School's the blues
I had to make a record of trying to get my 16-year old started for the day today.
6:00 alarm goes off - One button turns it off
6:05 Mom walks in room, chirping and shaking for a few minutes. No discernable response
6:12 Mom returns to room. Mentions the time, asks if he wants tea. Makes him moves his arms. He rolls back under his covers.
6:15 Katrina's teacher picks her & her stuff up for school
6:22 mom mentions tea is ready, has a mostly one-way conversation with him. pulls blanket off.
6:33 he ambles into bathroom, puts clothes down, returns to kitchen. Snaps at mom, tells her to bring laptop back to his room, calls her lazy. Mom snaps right back. He finds bagels in fridge and sits down to eat.
6:45 finished tea, grabs another bagel. tells his mom he isn't ready to talk yet.
6:52 mom reminds him to keep moving. He looks for clothes that mom cleaned up and jumps in shower.
7:00 mom start writing morning wake-up journal. He is in the shower.
7:16 mom gives him the time. He finally gets out of shower and starts brushing his hair.
7:24 going to be late - mom asks what she can do to help. He is still brushing his hair, asks his mom to help. She then repacks his book bag for him.
7:32 school has started, definitely late. He complains to his mom that she didn't replug his laptop in. He asks what might be on the PSAT.
7:37 he is still not completely dressed, but his hair is done.
7:42 out the door
7:52 School at last.
