Scary day
Had to run to Dr's this morning for a blood pressure check. I took it at home and got a 220/120 reading... (automatic cuff) , so I took it with my standard cuff and stethoscope and got even higher. Called the DR and the nurse told me to either come directly here or to the ER. I went to the DR (saved $500.00) and they checked it... same!! Dr put me on another med (Nifedipine) 1 x a day... took again tonight and got 140/86... Have to take it now twice a day!! I really do not need all this excitement!
My Kidney disease will not get better so the best I can hope for is to keep it where it is!

Take it slow and one day at a time. Will say extra prayers for you and sending you many hugs, support, strength, peace and love! Stay strong and keep faith in yourself and put it all in Gods hands. He will take care of you!
Maintaining in crisis -- I can relate to this state of circumstances all too well. I suppose it may be the support we have of family and close friends when in such crisis that determines to a large extent the quality of life we are able to have. I would hope those around you are very supportive and loving to you during all of this. I know since the death of my husband it is the numbness provided by the resultant severe PTSD that has often allowed for my survival -- took a few years to adjust to it but I have times of joy and happiness here and there these days from making some of the needed adjustments. When in such crisis our goals become pretty simple and basic it appears -- life with as much joy and happiness as we can manage.
I so hope the medications work well and give some needed relief. My one kidney has held up pretty good over the years but as cancer hit and then other illnesses became issues to contend I discovered with the death of my husband leaving me to cope alone in crisis real limits to my endurance began to be revealed. I suppose when in crisis it becomes a matter of doing as much as we can for as long as we can and as well as we can. I sure do miss my husband though and cherish those memories of sharing my life with him -- that has become my special hiding place from this nightmare life.
Gentle ((hugs)) shared.
