Scared Shitty

Life feels like it is coming at me at runaway train speeds. Hubs and I are still shakey from the intensity of July Harvest and the rumbles from the Protective Custody case are hoping to have all three GKs here for the beginning of the local school year on the 14th of August. The original tagline for this post was the classic vulgarity, "Scared Shitless." I only wish I could go shitless when I am terrified. Alas, my literals are that the spasms in my colon break my literal shit into countless balls and liquidy gushes than any asshole *should* be asked to process. I can only envy the folks who get scared shitless. I get scared to incontinence. Literally. I'm not metaphoring around.

Among the unwelcome intensities added to the July Harvest was the housing situation. This piecemeal, 100 year old farm house has long had problems severe enough to make it so that any meaningful rennovations need to start from the piers up. The rotting beams make the crawl space so unsafe that the work needs to begin with tearing up floorboards before we can even get a good look at what is going on with the pier and beam foundation. The already identified problems with the rest of the house are enough to give ample room to argue whether the house can possibly be worth the dollar value attached to all that work. Add in two disgruntled live-in employees, a handicapped visiting relative, two GKs and CPS updates leading this direction and? ? ? How do you spell, "Housing Crisis?"

Is it good news that a housing upgrade is in the number crunching stages? The double wide mobile home on the drawing board hits my prejudices like a serious compromise of the ideals we have been working in this farm restoration project, but. . . Dunno. . . Sorting. Prayers in progress.

Thank you, soothing suncloud.

Note:
"Gruntled" and "Disgruntled" mean the same thing. Rather like "Whelmed" and "Overwhelmed." Ah, those idiomatic quirks. Dropping the "over" of "whelmed" has grown to near habit for me and people seldom even look at me weird for it. I wonder if I should do likewise with with the "dis" of "gruntled."

Just wondering. . . It's easier than thinking about what *really* has me gruntled.

Thank you, ML. The gut is twisting, but the therapy tools have been holding off pharmacy time so far. Knocking wood and checking supplies, just in case.

I suggest cheese , rice and bananas . Kids love them all for the most part, they bind your bowels, hopefully, and they are inexpensive leaving addition dimes for the housing renovations. Oh and prayers, good luck wishes and triple triple hugs~

Thank you, my friends. There is great comfort and camaraderie in the ancient lights of the night sky.

This morning's red streaks on the Eastern horizon whisper of those healing hopes.

Much empathy Arfie.

I get literally “scared shitty” the same way. My first reaction to most things is an instant GI purging that is both painful and has me running for and seated on a porcelain throne for hours to days.

I hope it resolves itself soon, Arfie. My coping with the GI purges when they set in has always had negotiable success. I can’t take Imodium but I have a rotating rescue medication list between Levsin, Dexilant, and Dicyclomine to help with the purge. (I have to alternate between them every three months.)

Cardamom, sumac, bergamot and black caraway have always help me though, especially with the discomfort and pain. It also helps to decrease my chances of the GI reaction under stress. I had an Egyptian doctor recommend these herbs as they are what is often used in the Middle East by doctors to naturally maintain GI health and treat issues. In Germany, my upper GI issues were often treated by drinking a small glass of Campari or Etaler Bitters, both advises by my German doctors and the apothokea/pharmacist. But bitters doesn’t really help with the purges only decreases the pain and nausea I get with it.

Hugs, hope, prayers & love my friend.

I treat colon flare-ups like a psych symptom and ply psychotherapy tools. Works for me.

I still don't get the "1st World" diet logics. The most effective conversations I have had about my digestive woes have been in Spanish with people who are intimately familiar with unplanned starvation. Some of those folks blame 1st World diet logics for 1st world obesity.

I would rather debate the dollar value of designer heels.

Arfie, your plate is full and overflowing. So many issues to address, and decisions to make, some of which will be made by others. Keep taking some time for you to just stop thinking and enjoy the beauty around you. Healing and comforting hugs.
