Scared for my Country and my World...
I have been reading the paper, and it's scary...
According to polls, Americans no longer believe in the greatness of our Country. They say that our Country is adrift, and it quite literally becoming a "hell hole" because we have grown stagnant. It's scary because of how true that is starting to be. As we spread out our Troops all over the World to help different Countries, we are leaving ourselves open for attack. Enemies are becoming more ballsy, we are now getting more threats than ever. We have Veterans saying that our branches of the military have gone "soft" and that we could now easily be overpowered by people whom were never a threat to us before. While most Republicans running for office have stood more on the side of "morals" to get their votes, there are some that are feeding off of America's depressive atmosphere and chanting the 'hate' and 'displeasure' that rallies the people, makes them roar and pound their fists...While it may be sad to say, the idea that we need to once again show off our power and then exert it so that we might be left alone again...that might be our best option. We are not the world's band-aid. We are not here to fix the boo-boo's of everyone else on the planet. Those fleeing from their homes rather than stand and fight for their Country, while I understand the wanting to live, I feel one should have that pride to stand as a people and take charge for what they want. How do you think America happened? We were a people that stood and fought against the odds to win our Freedom...so many other Countries have done the same. So, rather than be that blanket for others to hide under, we should be pushing them to take charge of their own matters. Rather than give them all our resources and our people to fight a war for them, they should be fighting it for themselves. Aid is one thing, bu right now, we don't have the money, and we don't have the people to spare. It doesn't make us bad people, it just means we are watching out for our own while we recover. We need more funds for our military, we need better training for them, to get them back to the standards they used to have. We need to stop the cuts so that when that time comes when the World truly does go to shit (and it will come), we can stand as the greatest of nations, we can actually stand rather than be demolished under the hammers of another World War.I'm usually not one for votes based on hate, based on darkness...but at least these people see the problems in this Country for what they are. They aren't trying to hide our soft-squishy-center under a blanket of Peace...because guess what? Peace does not exist...it cannot exist because in life there will always be conflict no matter what, and, any amount of conflict is not a true Peace. And, the only way we have ever had a calm in the World was when we finally put our foot down and took care of ourselves and only fought those that threatened us, leaving the World to their own devices. ISIS? Yes, we need to take care of them...we still have things we started that we must finish, but, in the meantime, while we do that, we need to raise our standards, we need to train our people to fight stagnation and to be a real force to be reckoned with again...It's time to show the teeth and fangs, and not just let our enemies hear us roar.
