Scary.
Scary. In the bathroom w/Mother today waiting while she washed her hands. Suddenly she said: "I'm going down!" Her legs were just giving way beneath her. I grabbed her under both arms (already had hand under one), pressed her in to the sink and hollered for Layne. What would I do if he weren't here?? Maybe I'd think quick and find a way to get the wheelchair over to where she could sit... but it sure is a dicey situation at times.

Here are some suggestions.
Always have the WC nearby.
Keep a gait belt on her when she gets up. That way if she starts to go down you can grab the belt and ease her to the floor.
The hospice people can show you how to do it.
Yes. There are probably going to be times when she needs to go and Layne is not around.
Suggest you toilet her right before he has to leave and then hopefully he will be back before she has to go again.
Thanks, Trojan. It\'s only been one week w/her here at home... so hopefully things will sort themselves out.
Re seeing others journal entries on DS, where / how do you do that? Basically I only have a few minutes each morning (well, most) to ck things here and maybe write a note or two. But I don\'t see others\' journals.
