Saying Goodbye

This weekend is the beginning of the arduous process of saying goodbye to my friends and family in St. Louis. For the next 7 days, I will have all sorts of personal and social obligations to attend to... everyone wanting to say one last goodbye before I leave town for my new home hundreds of miles away. While I will be doing these things for the whole rest of the month, this coming week is by far the busiest.

Add on to that the fact that my brother is having shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff, and the pressure really mounts.

But, I'm blessed in all of this, to have such love and affection shown to me from so many wonderful people. Having to say goodbye sucks... but I'm already making new connections and new friends in Atlanta, people that can't wait for me to come live there and hang out. It's really an awesome thing to feel such pull from the cosmos for this blossoming direction. I'm so torn. I want to focus on the new connections and friends and starting over... but it is not that time yet. It is time to start saying goodbye.

Well hopefully, it's not goodbye forever to family...

No, it's not goodbye forever, but I will only be making the journey back to St. Louis once a year. It will be a huge change.

Absolutely, briggy! I am so grateful to have my friends here on DS. You all are the best folks I've ever met. So caring and kind and supportive. You have a solid forever place in my heart.

In my own strictly personals, tying up lose ends in the old life is an important part of a healthy start in a new life. That includes those pesky good-byes. Developing the new is so-o-o-o much easier when I am not looking over my shoulder for those neglected details to catch up with me.

At least. . . So opineth the Arf. . .

Whether you agree, or knot, Sending gentle hopes for a smooth transition.

Should I be notifying the authorities in Atlanta? Just in case?

There is definitely wisdom in your words, Arfie. I love your perspective! :) no need to notify those authorities... yet. ;)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my brother's surgery and for the house inspection. both are happening the same day. As soon as I know how everything turns out, I'll post to share. (((HUGS)))
