Saw daughter!
Saw daughter today for the first time in prison! Wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Was tough seen barbed wire fence but the grounds are pretty and the guards were so much nicer than in county. Got to hug her! She looked good. She had her hair done and make up on. We had lunch with her. She said it was the best pizza she ever had! lol she hasn't had pizza since May! She is in the honor bay! Good girl! Now she is talking about doing "boot camp" she said it is intense counseling with some exercise but tough. But instead of serving the whole time she would be out in 3 months. She would start Oct 15 and be out Jan 15. Instead of Sept 2017. She is hoping she gets that. There I am again apprehensive not sure where we will put her and if she will stay good when she gets out. But God is in control and will somehow make room in our house and I pray keep for her to stay healthy and clean.

I\'m so glad your first visit there went well!! It\'s hard to see them there but sounds like she is doing what she needs to! Good for her to stay positive!!
First time I went to see my Son, the barbed wire fencing got to me too! In the parking lot, I said to his g/f, almost tearfully, \' they\'ve got my Son in there\' & she lovingly said \' but we get to see him!!\' I smiled & said \' you are right..let\'s go!!\'
One day at a time is what we all can do!!
Thank you! Yes I thought the same thing, \"they got my baby in there.\" But I know in my head that is where she needs to be for her safety and redirection of her life. But the wire is hard to see. thanks
When my granddaughter went to see my fiance the first time, she stared at the barbed wire, asked what it was and why it was there. I explained. She just said, Oh that\'s dumb, none of those guys looks so bad.
I used to walk out crying when I looked at it. It still upsets me, but I get it.
One other thing. When he was at the other place last time, there was a little van with a guard in it. All of his shift all he did was ride around and around the prison area. Emmy said, He has a stupid job, bet he gets bored. She actually asked the guard. He said Yup, little girl you are right, it is pretty boring, no one ever escapes. As we would walk out, she would look up at the guard towers, and wave to them. One actually waved back. She figured out where the cameras were as we walked out too, she would stand and smile and wave at them. She said \" Maybe if I smile and wave at them, they will be nice to Grandpa\"... The guards commented on her, they would look for when that cute little girl that waved at them came. HAHA she got to them. Some of the guards would actually get her games and books she could take home. She said \" Well they seem to be nice men Grandma, are they nice to Grandpa?\" I said SOME are and some are not. She said, well I wish I knew which ones weren\'t, I would not smile and wave at them.
People worry whether they should take kids into prisons to see someone. Kids look at it a whole different way. Emmy just was so glad to see him, but then she would get a little sad and say that she bet he was sad when we left him there. BUT it didn\'t affect her that bad. Her daddy was in when she was tiny, and I don\'t think that made any impression, except she does remember him being there.
That\'s sad about you saying They have my son in there. I know how you felt. I had a son in there too. Somehow that hurts worse. It is your baby. My fiance... he is a big boy, he is OLD, and has been in so many times, I get sad for him, but mad too. But still, he is having such a hard time, I still cry for him. Regardless of why he ended up in there. Those places should not be for non violent offenses. Mine is in for probation violation, just because he left the state without a travel permit, because on the spur of the moment he found out he could see his son for the first time in 20 years. I knew it was a set up, but he took off without me, before I could say don\'t do it. Can\'t blame him though.
BrendaBell, I am so glad you got to see her. Maybe now that you have, and seen where she is, and heard the plans she has to improve herself, you will feel better. Believe me my son actually turned his life around because he went to prison. Stupid bf hasn\'t been that smart, yet. We can hope.
My partner went to boot camp and had an early release upon successful completion of the program. If your daughter can put up with serious humiliation and grueling physical conditions, she can do it!! I hope she gets in.
Thanks. She said the boot camp that she is trying to get in is mostly groups sessions. She said there is one that is very physical but not the one she is trying to get in. She has medical issues. Not sure if she can do the strenuous physical. Thank you for your comment. Im glad your partner could get out early.
