Saw a doctor this week
Last November we saw a Neurologist for my husband back pain and other numerous conditions. At that time doc said he had a right to be depressed and put him on Abilify which the insurance would not cover. Internist then put him on Zyprexa instead. So last week we get a call from neurologists office saying they wanted to see him for a follow up appt. I took it thinking he needs to see anyone that will look at him. Well neuro said he did not know why we were there and I told him becuase his office said so. Anyway it did not help much. He said to take him off of Zyprexa in case it was what was causing the complete shut down. So he has been off of it for about four days now and no change. (I understand it could take a while, but I am beginning to think it is not going to make much difference other than a little more alert.) I joined the PAH support group this morning, looking for help and info there. I am thinking this is just the way it is going to be from now on. We are talking four weeks now without much improvement. I flew his daughter out from Illinois hoping it might cheer him up and he was quite surprised. I will take her back to airport Monday morning. Leave here around 4 am. He is still trying to decide whether he will be able to go back to school (we will have to pay back grant money if he does not go back). I told him that he did not need that kind of pressure, to just drop out and we would have to make payment back to the college. I have the flu so I missed my classes yesterday, but I don't even care. Wanted to get all A's, now I just want to get through as long as I pass. My heart is not in it any more without Jim there with me. Probably won't go back next semester, just want to sit here with Jim.
