Savannah - March 18, 2010

Have been in Hilton Head, SC, since Saturday.  Love the beach (even though a plane crashed on the beach and killed a guy who was jogging right next door to our condo), but the island itself is a bit laid back for me.  I'm not looking for spring break, God help me, but at least some options would be nice.  The bars all close by 10 -- guess everyone has to get up for those early tee times.  Do not like southern men at all -- they actually make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.  Good old boys or arrogant assholes -- feel sorry for southern women!
Spent today in Savannah Ga and LOVED it.  What an amazing city.  It is so beautiful and the people are so much friendlier than they are in Hilton Head.  Did a city tour and had dinner at Paula Deen's restaurant, Lady and Sons.  It was supposed to be my 20th anniversary celebration there but instead it was my first "un-anniversary" celebration.  I can honestly say that I had a much better time than if I had been celebrating the anniversary.  I have been laughing for 7 days straight.  Constantly.  It feels so good.  Getting home on Sunday is going to be a rude awakening -- back to reality.
Only real trouble we got into was for being in the condo hot tub, drinking wine and singing Rude Boy and Need You Now.  Giddy up!  Condo cops were very nice though, lol.
But...I signed the papers for the townhouse on Friday so it's onward and upward.  In the shops I have been looking for something small but memorable to buy for my new home.  "My" new home!  How cool is that???
Tomorrow is our last day here and it's supposed to be absolutely gorgeous.  Looking forward to being on the beach all day.  Already as brown as a berry.
