Saturday morning, tired, but pleased with the past week

Good morning journal, the time is now 9:11am and I have been awake for a couple of hours after a somewhat disturbed night where my sleep was interrupted by two of our dogs needing to go outside.I was pleased that I did not get even a tiny bit annoyed with them for waking me,my general disposition during the day had been one of pleasantness and conviviality, and I enjoyed yesterday immensely,I am learning to be patient and more tolerant about things that happen in my waking hours, sometimes in the past I could be like a runaway horse, but I am gradually learning to metaphorically pull on the reins a little to slow it down, and it seems that it is working for the most part.Yesterday morning I had psyched myself up for my first visit with my new mental health team, but,as usual, the best laid plans of mice and men can go astray,I received a telephone call from Carol Jolly, the mental health lady who has been helping me with things, and she apologized but said she would have to change my appointment to next Friday instead as there was no consultant in the office all day.She said she would still come to see me as we had the disability paperwork to complete, this she did,and I am glad to report that the forms are now in the mail in plenty of time to get there by the due date of September 2nd.I like miss Jolly a lot,I find it very hard to trust people that I do not know very well, hell,if the truth be known,I find it difficult to trust people that I do know well, but that's another tale for another day.Carol however, has a very caring and disarming way about her,she listens extremely well and, even with my hearing aids in,she makes it easier for me to communicate with her by looking at me and allowing me to lip read her,now that is considerate.Like the advert says,"she does exactly what it says on the tin",no frills,no big words, just simple down to earth explanations that even I can understand, she thinks that I will be successful with the disability claim this time and she has added her support from the mental illness side of things to my doctors letter,so I am hopeful.Another thing that may help my claim is that she actually filled the forms in,I didn't have to write a single word, which helped me enormously as I get confused easily and filling in forms makes me feel frustrated and very uptight.I have the concentration powers of a gnat, and she knows that,so it helped that she took the time to fill the paperwork in for me,thank you Carol. For one so young, and she is very young, early twenties at most, she is very knowledgeable in her particular field, she has also gone further with my care already than anyone has before by referring me to social services and an occupational therapist, all of which will help with my disability claim, and social services can help in other ways by getting me access to things that will make things easier for me like a shower seat and bath rails etc:,so I have nothing but good things to say about her and the way she goes about her duties, she is an outstanding professional and a credit to her department, and, for the first time in a long time,I feel more than hopeful that things will, given time, get better for us as a family and for me individually. This coming week is a week where I should be able to rest up some and regain some of the strength that I have expanded over the past fortnight,I have nothing to speak of in my diary as regards appointments or trips outside our home until next Friday when Carol will come and pick us up for my rescheduled visit to the mental health consultant at 9:30am,she told me he was called doctor Prince and that he was very good,in her opinion out of the two consultants in the office,he is the best and that is good enough for me.This weekend is a bank holiday in my country, that means that all the banks are closed and there are no mail deliveries scheduled until Tuesday morning,so we should have a weekend free of any nasty letters or calls from creditors,a temporary reprieve I'm sure, but one which I am very grateful for.Hopefully,I should have my new wheelchair in the next seven to ten days,so that will help enormously in being able to get outside with my wife,I have missed our trips out where we used to just go window shopping and spend time together being a couple doing nothing but doing what made us feel happy and content, and I am looking forward to once again being able to do that for no other reason, but just because we can.Well journal, time for me to be away from here, the new day is upon us and for once,I am looking forward to it,may God continue to walk with us and may His love and peace once again fill our home and our hearts.

So glad you have someone you like working with. Carol sounds like a great person and so helpful. I am happy that you are getting things in order. Please take care of yourself and rest up and relax.
