Saturday, I was the patient.

Oh how I miss you honey.  On Saturday, I was drying off after a shower.  I had all but my right foot to dry... lifted it up and my knee gave way, the one that has had a total knee replacemt.  I became the little old lady that couldn't move.  I hopped to a nearby phone; called my youngest son to come over and help me.  I tried to use my crutches to get downstairs, so he could take me to the hospital.  After going a couple ft., I said "No, this isn't going to work."  The pain was excruiting.  We called the ambulance; paramedics came, but I couldn't even get up to get in the stair chair they had.  An I.V. was started and I was given pain meds; finally after 30 minutes was able to get in the stair chair.  I was taken to the hospital where my knee surgery was done.  After x-rays, it was determined that my knee had dislocated.  Unfortunately, my surgeon was out of town, so the decision was make to transfer me to St. Mary's ER at Mayo.   I was given sedation and my knee was popped back in place without incident.  I was admitted overnight for observation.  I was discharged this morning and have spent most of the day sleeping.  So now, I have to wear a brace until I see my surgeon, and stay off it for 3 days.
So, I'm hobbling around the house doing the best I can.  My sons come if I need them.  One more thing to deal with.
