saturday, and no...i didn't sleep in!
I am up WAY too early, once again. I do sleep well, with my sleep apnea/bi pap machine. I can remember when I first told you all that I hated it, and hadn't used it. So, I gave in & now I can't sleep without it! So I fall asleep right away, but for some strange reason, I sleep for 2 hours and wake up! So, I get up , make coffee, have 2 or 3 cups, watch the news or some show on tv, and go back to sleep 2 or 3 hours later. Seeing that I get up usually at 4am, or 5am...I have realized that I AM a vampire, and sleep during the day, and up all night! LOL!I had my gastric bypass surgery scheduled for this coming Tuesday, Oct 29th. Well, I JUST stopped smoking a week ago, and Dr had not told me, that he wouldn't do the surgery, unless I had stopped for 3 months!! And, I had told them back in September, I was smoking 1-3 cigs per day, but not every day!Somehow the communication was not shared, and they called the other day and said, "NOPE, can't do it".
I freaked!!!! I've waited almost a year for this! So, the Dr called me & we talked. He said with smoking so recently, that I'm a risk for ulcers and pneumonia, (since I have COPD/Emphysema), and that he would not feel comfortable doing the surgery on Tuesday. , BUT< he said he will do it in 6 weeks, so that i'm almost 3 months stopped by then. HE's cutting me a break, cause he knows that I have chronic pain, spinal stenosis, and arthritis in my back, knees and hips. He cares!! And that touches my heart. SO, in the next 6 weeks, i will be having it. So far, I have lost 26 pounds in 6 weeks. My new profile pic is up, and I can even tell, that i lost weight in my face! I have more energy, i'm breathing better, although with exertion it goes down, then I do my pursed lip breathing, and sometimes pop on the O2, and i'm fine within minutes!I don't get as out of breath walking out to the car either. I can only get healthier with this surgery, taking the weight off my vital organs, including my lungs, and live a very happy and healthy 2nd half of my life!! I'm 51...so i figured i will live until i'm 102....HOPING!!Hope this entry finds you all doing well, and it was Silhouette, that prompted me to write again in my journal, so thank you S !!!!Hugs,
Boo

Hey Boo, I was thinking about you so stopped by to say hello. You are really tackling some major health changes. So cool. You keep the spirit. I know you can.
Last 8 weeks have been tough at work and home w mom. She is gettinv foggy-er :) I have not been around here much. But need to. Stress is never a friend and getting in touch w DS has always helped me cope and be more positive.
PS. I use to sleep a few hours then drink coffee a few hours then second nap. It was my stress load. Once I lost weight and took care of my worries then I got into a 6.hour chunk of sleep. I get 6-7 now and can not relate to ever getting up for coffee :) But I do love that(coffee) &hope my DR never tells me not to have it.
Take care
hugs

I know we just became friends but I have been following your journey for several months and I have to say GREAT ATTITUDE:) Sadly I too have held on to those 1 or 2 cigs every once in a while for stress relief but , I wanted you to know.... I\'m going to give them up in support of my new friend AND because with my diagnosis....I really need to! Keep up the great work & make that 102:)
how are you doing Boo? have not seen any writing from you or heard anything. Every thing is going ok I hope
hugs to you
