Sarah\'s missing so much
Last night Sarah had another round of tears over something school related that she's missing out on. Sometimes these things happen without warning, like last night, and I'm not even aware of what triggered the tears. Just after a while I realize she's been out of the room longer than normal or I look over I notice tears. Sometimes I catch a reference on TV to something about Prom or graduation and I wait to see how she's going to take it. So far she hasn't taken any of it well. It's all too fresh and this time of year is sooo hard. There are references all over TV - commercials for tux rentals, tv show episodes that take place at proms, and that stupid movie ad for Prom Night that played every 5 minutes the week before it came out! Gag!! Normally that would be a movie that Sarah, Andrew and I would watch when it came out on DVD and we'd tease A. about it. He doesn't like to go to the theatre for slasher flicks in case he screams like a girl,(hiswords) so he waits for dvd and watches them with us. :) so we laugh and every time a new one is advertised we say "that looks like one Andrew'll have to wait for dvd to watch".She has missed school since Sept. and therefor is not graduating with her class and is not going to the grad dinner/dance (we don't call it prom here) or to valedictory with the kids she's grown up with. She is heart broken and sooo depressed.I wish there was a magic button to fix all this or I at least had the right things to say.
