These studies used functional magnetic resonance imaging to measure brain function non-invasively, as well as eye-tracking to visualize attention and interest, which arise from brain functions. Based on these studies, we also discuss potential applications of these research findings for understanding mastication-related brain functions in the fields of clinical dentistry and medicine.
