Sandbag Training The Right Tool for Better Workouts?

A bag of sand, yes, a bag of sand. There is some irony that people can't get over what the implement is, especially in light of the fact we somehow believe long pieces of metal that we put circular pieces of metal on are well accepted. How about the fact that just about every gym in the world has the mini-version of this hi-tech design with small pieces of metal having either hexagon or circular pieces of the metal on either end. In other words, GET OVER IT! Get over what a sandbag is and in fact after this article you may never see it the same way again.Yes, I know, you have heard and read all you think you probably ever want to in regards to sandbag training. However, what if I told you everything people have told you about sandbag training is wrong?! What if I told you there are five benefits that make sandbag training unique, but no one ever talks about? Then maybe sandbag training wouldn't be the red headed step-child only used by the "hardcore" or "underground" lifters.System vs. WorkoutTo make any argument the use of sandbag training as a foundational part of any fitness program we have to start at what is the problem with the current model of using unstable objects such as sandbags. First and foremost it begins with the fact that just because we use a sandbag doesn't mean we are really "training", the reality is that most people are performing sandbag exercises not training. They haven't identified why using a sandbag would be BETTER than another tool, or why the exercise they have selected is solving a problem or accelerating their progress towards their goals.A system means we do just that! We don't begin by trying to replicate what other training implements can do, rather we determine what represents a foundation and how to create progressions from those movements. A system has protocols and rationale behind it as to where to begin and where you want to go with improving movement. A system identifies goals and creates solution. Applying a random movement or a "hardcore" exercise doesn't qualify as a system and doesn't even justify the use of an implement or method. For more information visit here: http://quickplay.no/
