Sand Sculptures at Ft. Myers Beach
On Friday, four of my friends and I went up to Ft. Myers Beach to check out the 27th Annual Sand Sculpture Competiton. A M A Z I N G! Despite the rain and wind we had earlier in the week, all of these amazing designs were still intact having been completed on November 22.
We did learn that while the only things used to make these sculptures is sand and water, when a sculpture is completed, they are sprayed with an Elmer's type water soluble glue to keep the wind from eroding them.
The photo captioned FAQ's has a lot of interesting information about the display. I was amazed that a number of the artists came from places where there is NO BEACH! like Billings, Montana!
Next time I go to the beach, I'm going to have to try my hand at this. No doubt, I will be able to make bucket-shaped things...LOL.
Enjoy the photos and try to remember that this is NOT SNOW! It was 80 degrees in Ft. Myers on Friday...I am LOVING this weather!

Those sculptures are amazing. And while you are enjoying such beautiful weather, how about sending some of it north to Canada. As KRKing911 said I want it too.
