Same old same old

PPT.  Good news:  son is doing much better on quizzes, tests, participation.  Showing he knows the materials.  These grades are good.   Bad news:  the good part of the grades are getting flushed out by NOT DOING HOMEWORK.  Part of it is that he's having a tough time getting himself together & organized, but most of it is that he's completely blowing it off.
I've reiterated a thousand times that I'm willing to help him, that the teachers are willing to help him, etc.  But he has to do HIS part.  Others @ the PPT underscored that point as well.
I don't want to go backwards.  I want to go forwards.  I want HIM to go forwards.  And some parts are.  The school psych poked his head in @ the beginning & said he noticed my son being way more social & getting along great with others.  That is a big step for him, too.  I have to try to look at the postive side & see that yes, there is SOME progress being made.  I'm just so scared that we may lose that progress, like we did from 7th to 8th grade.
