Sadness of Life

I can remember the days before the sadness of my life begin...I used to laugh..I used to enjoy life..I used to look forward to the times I knew I would be visiting my son....
Now those days they just don't seem to be the same anymore...oh do I still love the times the family gets together...the phone calls that I get from my boys just to chit-chat and talk about anything and everything...oh yes those days they are still so important to me...yet
they days of some joy are always overshadowed by the loss of my sweet son Ken...how could i go back to the days when laughter was easy to come by...when going out with friends brought joy...as those days I still knew I would hear from all my boys...but
that has been taken away ...the night the phone rang...the night I heard the words, surgery, maybe anything from infection in the leg to cancer...as I know now it was the word we don't won't to hear...Cancer....
I just watched the movie "Letter's to God"...i THOUGHT i could get through it..and not bring me down..make me sad....but as my husband and I watched it...I could hear the sniffles he was trying to hide...I held back my tears as I knew they would be a river....
But also today, I read a e-mail I had missed on Tues...our new music leader at church who has not even been voted in is only in a trial period...has decided to bring in someone and has decided that she will be playing full time either the piano or keyboard...How dare this person to come in as music leader..not even 7 weeks and to take our band and tear it apart...It makes me down right mad...I wrote to him and let him know somewhat how I felt.....in a kind way....but after 4 years the band has worked together...gone through 3 music directors and we have all stayed through it all..showed up on time...and had done a good job....My husband is on the church board but if our pastor lets this guy come in and do this...I don't know if I will want to continue going there....It is very selfish on his part...we do need back-up singer's and this person has only been to our church two times...and now he wants her to take over...so it pretty much pissed me off...
I really want to tell him what I think!!!!  He knows I have lost a son...I have told him playing helps me...but you see people just really don't care..only think of what they want...guess we will see..
Had to vent...

I think that would make me angry too. I have seen new people come into a church congragation and try to take over before. They step on toes and don\'t care whose feelings they hurt. Our church lost a wonderful music director years ago, over something simular to this. I think i would just sit back and watch how this unfolds. Don\'t let a new comer run you out of your church. I am sure things will calm down and you need the support of a church family, when you are dealing with the things you are dealing with. ((((HUGS))))...Julia

I am so sorry Sandi. Some \'Christian\' people do not act like it. I know some people who attend church regularly but I do not consider them to be Christian. I also know people who never darken a church door who are conscientious and caring. I think what they are doing at your church is unfair and insensitive. Hang in.
Love and hugs,
Marlene

yes playing the piano does bring peace to me...but you know...it\'s really not worth it...he had me come to practice suppose to be from 740 to 840 Wednesday night..since none of them (his group) had did their work before they got there we were there until 10 or after and then wanted me back there this morning at 730..I wrote and told him this morning that since I practiced Wed night I would be to church in time to play on time...well he didn\'t like that..and well I didn\'t care so I didn\'t go and I think I just soon say good-bye to him ...I can see where it is headed...already trying to get rid of me and the other girl...so his girl can do it all..and his wife told me she was talking over running the board for the sound system...and we have people appointed to do that....if they continue they will hurt up to 7 to 10 people who have been faithful to the church for years...so I just decided I don\'t want any part of his game...the problem I see is they came from a church that used to be a part of ours and the leader of the church split our church up...so I can see that happening again....sad but I usually get these feelings when something is not quite right and it usually turns out not good...I felt this a few weeks ago about him so we will see..but I too am tired of the long Sunday days....and with the surgery...maybe just time to let it go...thanks for the encouragements...Sandi

So sorry this happened. I too would wait to see how thing unfold. I have a hard time with changes but sometimes change is a good thing. Perhaps something better for your situation will develop from all the changes. Not sure what, but I try to be optimistic. Sending you love. Robin

\"Letters To God\" is most certainly a tearjerker. I love the song from the movie called \"Everything is Beautiful\"...it touches my heart. I hope your situation at church will become better and that God\'s will prevails. I hope your back surgery goes well. My husband has had three and now goes for injections and pain meds.....God bless you...love, dale..brandon\'s mom

I\'m so sorry you are having these problems with these people that are taking over in your church, they certainly sound bossy and they are going to split the church. That\'s so sad. Terry

You are absolutely right and dealing with a man is entirely different from a woman. Good luck with the music monster
