sad tragedy

I am very close to two of my cousins, they are more like best friends.  This weekend my one cousin's son and some friends went snowmobiling about an hour away from here.  The kid in the lead came upon a road unexpectantly and jumped off his sled to warn the others that they would have to stop.  The second kid tried to stop but got ejected from his sled and then the sled landed on him at first he jumped up and said I am alright but immediately went down blood coming out from different areas of his head.  My cousin's son is a junior volunteer firemen so he tried to do what he could for his friend ran to the road to find a milemarker to call for help and then held his dead friend for 30 minutes while waiting for help.  Once help arrived the firemen tried using the deffibralator(sp) on him but it did not work then the ambulance came and took him away the boys all went to the sherriffs department to begin the investigation into the accident.  This happened at 10:30 am and they could not call their parents until 3:30 because they could not get in touch with the boy that died's mom, and they didn't want anybody else to know until she was notified.  This poor women just lost her husband unexpectantly about a year ago (sudden heart attack in his late 40's)  I can't even imagine what she is going through right now.  I don't know this boy or his mom but I have been very upset about this since I heard.  I can picture Ryan sitting there in the snow holding his friend, and then not being able to call his parents,  I think about the boy's mom and what a nightmare she is facing now and I cry...  I think it may be partly hormonal I'm not sure but I am very upset over this.   It reminds me of something I learned in a world religion class I took a few years back.   Life = suffering

What an incredibly sad story. It is amazing what can happen when we least expect it. My horomones have been flying too so I can totally relate to how you feel. I hope your cousin recovers emotionally. It may take a while. My daughter is still recovering emotionally from a car accident. Hope you have a good week.

It is a sad story. But it sounds like your friend\'s son did everything he could do and then some. I hope everyone is proud of the way he conducted himself. I\'m sure he can\'t focus on that right now, but it may be some comfort to him later.

This is tragic...I\'ve never been a big fan of snowmobiles. A really hard thing for a young man to have to go through.

Holy God Rinkpa this is such a tragedy. I\'m so sorry for these young men and everyone that loves them. Bless your heart. Oh and Wils I too am not a fan of snow mobiles...my ex husband\'s had some close calls just this season and is currently in a sling with a broken collar bone, I told our son \"if your dad kills himself on one of those things I\'ll kill him.\"
