Sad times

Today, I attended a funeral of a 46 yr. old friend who took her own life Sat. night.   I did her sons wedding 2 months ago. I have known her husbands family for almost 55 years.
No-one seems to know what happened but, I understand she had some issues that they were getting her help for.  She has a son in the Marine Corp. and a daughter who lives in New Mexico.  This family are big farmers and have a beautiful home.  From the outside, it looks as though they had it all but, we never seem to know the demons that people deal with in their minds.
This was a very sad day for many people in this small farming community that we live in.
Monday morning, another friend of mine slipped into eternity as well.  She was in her 80's and she was a great friend for many years.  I saw her a couple of weeks ago and she told me she was not doing well at all.  Her graveside service is tomorrow.  I will attend.  She was a supporter of me, came and visited my church and always wanted a "Pee Wee Hug", every time I saw her, regardless of where we met. I never heard this woman say a bad word about anyone, all the years I knew her.  She always looked for the good in people.
We don't like to deal with things like this but, we know they are a part of life that we all have to endure.
