Sad day...

So the dog I have been dog-sitting for went downhill in a hurry. He had been having seizures for the past 2 days and it looked like his liver was failing. The owners were driving him to Canada where he had his liver surgery. I went over to the house to pick up my check for this week and say good-bye to him. Held him for a few minutes and it just felt like the spirit was gone from him, only the "vessel" was there. Tiana (dog's mother) was inconsolable, said that this was worse than when she lost her father, she still seemed to have the hope that there would be an easy fix that would bring the dog back. (Keep in mind this is an incontinent, very limited mobility, 18 year old dog.) Personally, I think he is off to the happy hunting grounds in the sky or the rainbow bridge depending on theory u believe in.
Hubby leaves tomorrow for new job in Seattle. While I stay here for the next three weeks, finish my current job, and pack up our current apartment. I'm thinking about maybe tackling scrubbing the shower after he leaves since I don't have to work on sunday and it is the task I dread the most.
Overall between Michel (dog), crying because of it and the headache resulting from crying it has been no good, very bad day.
Maybe tomorrow will be better.
