Same Old Shit, Different Day

Again I am feeling the isolation of this job site. This go-round is approaching its 4th month. The next step in getting Tiggy road safe requires time in a body shop. Getting that bid is on this morning's agenda and I will be greatly surprised if the work can be done fast enough to allow me to wait it out in their neighborhood. I time guestimate is a full day, at the minimum. The nearest body shop is about 15 miles away and there is nobody I can call for a ride. Fortunately I have the resources for a rental car, but car troubles are one of the places where it sucks to go it alone, even for a seasoned mechanic. For this psychopated mechanic? ? ? SOSDD.

There has been good progress here while I have used it as an excuse to avoid returning to the Breach of Contract scene in the River Region, but the progress isnae enough to jump its 53 year history as an Executive Line Item. The co-owners remain busy in their own executive lives and know how to treat a line item like a line item. It's a family tradition. The co-owner I am married to is far more engaged than he was in the previous go-rounds, but is way too busy to provide realistic management on a project this size. I donae much care to take on the management role, either. In addition to the co-owner trust issues, my discomfort with the boom stresses of this fashionable zip code is still growing. This farm community already feels like future city to me. The "Country Living" subdivisions are already sprouting and the spaces between them are diminishing rapidly. To my senses, the DFW metroplex has already arrived. SOSDD again.

There is still a big part of my disenfranchised senses which believe the potential for a family legacy lives in this property. Exploring that notion still gives me flashbacks to the ? ? ? Do I have honestly compassionate words for those digs from the in-laws? Those digs arenae ever open for discussion. In between the random snipe shots are Polyanna pretense of ? ? ? Silver platter polish? GS is deeply infatuated with "The Farm," but he is only 5. He will find many hats to try on before his adult shapes are defined. The middle generation is thoroughly apathetic and even Hubby's interest feels like it is more geared toward controlling my wherabouts than anything personal. SOSDD again.

Round and round and round I go. . . Sorting. . . For now it is nearly time for the body shops to open. Onward through the fog.

The Boy Toy accident trauma is officially closed. I signed over his title to the other driver's insurance company and deposited the settlement check yesterday. The simultaneous thread of remediating Tiggy has me reviewing the potentials of a car-free lifestyle. That isnae gonna happen anywhere in the Boom State, but there are places it can be done with natural ease. I've lived in several and I do remember those places fondly. I enjoyed living without the burdens of vehicular ownership.

The time guesstimate is approximately 2 weeks to get Tiggy''s front bumper off ground. Until then, I am pretty much stranded up here on this hill. The duct tape holding it up is safe enough to run the 10 miles into town, but I don't trust it much further than that. It wasn't quite so bad the day YS had the accident, but it hasn't gotten any better in the ?? weeks since the accident.

Is the massive depression which has been threatening since my return from the body shop a natural part of the cycle I have been experiencing or the natural result of reading a few lines of a Sylvia Plath poem this morning? The two could be partners in crime. Depression is normal for me on the calming end of an episode. Not a good time to even think of the Queen of Doomy Gloom, much less get anywhere near her words.

And the band plays on. . .

the car that owns me... Scooter was nice and made it to Pep-boys, with just a little worry about a shaky front end. What I am not understanding is how a car could move if the front right brake was locked. Good thing I will be getting paid soon. didn't expect this unexpected...
work is going fairly well so far. not working where I expected to be and my feet are protesting over the extra two and a half hours a day but tomorrow will be the end of the first week... TGIF with a three day no Labor weekend... Ya Hoo

I does love the irony of having a holiday called, "Labor Day." I put it up there with driving on a parkway and parking in a driveway.

Lost in metaphor again. . .
