Running On Empty

I am having a hard time pulling it alltogether right now.  I have been putting things off. Started early with baking, half the cookies got eaten and I had to do again.  I had a couple days off earlier, but got little done (did get the shopping almost done.) On top of that I have had to do a couple nights this week.

Last night...getting home after 7 , my plan was to bake pumpkin rolls, mix cookie doughs.  On top of everything, I am working on something.... (maybe a sinus infection?)  All night my head was thumping..woozy, lightheaded  (yes, more than the "simple blonde thing". haha)  Now I am getting ready to go off to work again...only to come home and get stuff done.

I am trying to be cheerful, upbeat and continue to reach out to others.  (Part of this is not feeling good, part of it because of the usual touch of sadness for those not with us  ....and those I wish who were right here beside me.)   The fact that I have absolutely all this to do while hubby does nothing  just makes the head a bit more thumpy.

Not sure where to muster all the happiness and joy back up.....I will have to work on it.

It sounds like you are running yourself into the ground. You’re not superwoman and no one should expect you to be, including yourself. Pace yourself and allow some peace into your life by doing something you love; or just do nothing at all. It’s easy for us to overwhelm ourselves and it starts wearing us down emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Your to do list would make several people dizzy so as I’ve been told stop putting so much on your plate and believe in you. You don’t have to prove anything and feeling sick won’t improve anything, please be well. And that blonde is on the hook again for utter dizzinesss. Lol

Yes this is a challenging time of the year. Perhaps try to cut back a little. Pumpkin Rolls sound difficult if they’re what I’m thinking—cake with filling rolled up into a log? Take care of yourself before that husband of yours. Hugs.

It sounds like you are married to the wrong person. Husbands and wives should help each other out no matter what the circumstances! I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas!!

Try to get some rest when you can. Life will go on if you don't get it all done.

I did make it through the day. Thank you all for the insights... and you are right. Unfortunately, everyone does look for me to do these things... and , God forbid, I do not want to disappoint.

When I got home, I spent time doing up dishes , laundry, a very quick dinner. I did take a break... as a result I got a very late start again. It is 11;15pm and my pumpkin rolls are not quite cooled so I have to wait a bit more before I fill and reroll them. And I do still have to bake other cookies in the morning. (I did decide to skip 1 or 2 kinds....but still have 3 more kinds to go....plus fudge....plus a casserole for work on Sunday) I just want a very long nap......or a fairy godmother.

I do hope you all have a good holiday with your families and friends.
