rough weekend
It's been a really rough weekend with my dog, "sweety", having about a dozen seizures. So many I lost count. They started out every 4 hours beginning friday night, and right off we knew what king of weekend we were going to have. They seemed to stop yesterday afternoon and we thought they were over but they started up again during the evening and came every three hours.
She had one at 2:30 so I figured 5"30 would be the next one, but she was resting comfortably between my legs at 5:30 and I prayed harder then I have ever prayed before that the ordeal was over. It seems to be.
Now she is going through a phase where she thinks she is starving even though I have already fed her twice this morning. It goes back to that primordial instint to always look for food, I guess.
I think I will call the vet this morning and see if there is something else he can give her. She doesn't seem to tolerate the valium very well and it doesn't seem to help.
While I have been writing this she will look at me with those big eyes of hers as if to say,"will u help me?" Tears my heart out. I hope this becomes a better day!

Poor thing! It\'s so hard when our pets get sick. They depend on us for everything, and it\'s so hard because they can\'t tell us \"what hurts?\" Same thing with an infant. When they get sick it\'s SO hard because they can\'t tell us what\'s wrong! I know the ripping your heart out feeling, and my prayers are with you and your lil pup.
I totally understand how you feel my dog Penny also has seizures and when they happen you feel so helpless because all you can do is watch and reassure them that your there...I am sorry for you pets illness, and your stress of having to go through it...I will pray for better days for the both of you!!
I\'m sorry that this weekend & weeks before have been so sad & terrifying for you & your wonderful dog., Do they know what\'s causing the seizures? I too understand what it feels like to not be able to do anything when your \"baby\" is sick & there\'s not a thing you can do. Do you think there are specialists that could help or is this a common factor for your kind of dog? I also feel like Jackie & Randy--my heart goes out to you & your precious one & I\'ll also be praying for all of you. Please give her lots of kisses from me too. Big Hugs & always thinking of you.
