Rough week

My father-in-law has been in poor health for several years, now.  He had to have half of one lung removed back in 2011 because of a fungal growth.  He has really went downhill fast over the past few months.  The family really doesn't expect him to live another week. In addition to that, my mother-in-law has terminal lung cancer -- they're giving her a few months.
So, Tim and I are bracing and preparing for a painful trip to the mountains of Maine --- soon.  In spite of the miles between them, my husband and his dad are very close.
My 29-year-old daughter wants to go, too.  She thinks the world of her step-family and she hasn't seen them for several years.  My mom would like to go, but she has too many doctor's appts that she can't afford to miss.  She went on a trip up there with us once, and it was hilarious.  She got along great with my in-laws, and the cultural differences and "language barriers" made for some comic moments!  My fil pretended that he couldn't understand what we were saying when we would tell him what my mom's name is, and he made up his own name for her.   My mom and my mil think very highly of one another.  Is that weird?
Everything is either on hold or stand-by for Tim and me until we get through this.

Just took a phone call from my mil 4 minutes ago (12:11 pm cst). Looks like my fil has only hours to live now ... not days.

OH goodness Pilot! Your family is in my prayers. You have a lot going on right now. I can see why everything with yours and hubby\'s plans is going to have to wait.
