rough experience at the party. this isn't drama or anger, but hurt heart feelings.

Hi angel friend, i'm gonna do some writing about a very uncomfortable experience we had at the birthday party yesterday. i texted Alyssa afterwards, to see what was going on, as it was very uncomfortable, being around Aj's family, and also my dad, Holly, and i not having any seats, and having to sit on the cement steps for nearly 2 hours. very upsetting, and really hurt our hearts, and our feelings. the most important thing to us, was that the triplets enjoyed their birthday, we were there for the kids. i texted Alyssa, to let her know, it was upsetting, Aj and his family's anti-socialness, and that we are upset, and hurt, that we didn't get to sit with everyone, and had to sit on cement steps. my dad and Holly both experience back pain, and was very disheartening, them both having to go through what they did, with uncomfortableness. we're disappointed, and we can't see ourselves going over to their h ome again, unless first, they are more respectful, and also everyone getting a chance to sit together, and at least having seats for us all. it was very upsetting, and words can't describe how uncomfortable we felt, all afternoon. This wasn't about "anger" or "drama", purely about being disrespected, and our hearts being hurt. DS is a support site, i can seek support too, and i'm writing this journal out, to share with everyone, about how poorly my dad,Holly and i were treated yesterday.

Upsetting experience at the party yesterday. Hi angel friends, i need to do some heart writing here. before i begin to write, just wanted to say, we're so happy the triplets enjoyed a nice birthday :) that's what meant most to us yesterday, even though it got very uncomfortable at the party, the most important thing, is that we were there for the kids, to celebrate their birthday, and are happy they enjoyed their birthday. i need to do some writing, about my niece Alyssa, Aj,and his very anti-social family. Aj and his family aren't very socialable with us, they don't talk w ith us much, and already, going into the day,and experience, we really wish that Alyssa and Aj would have planned 2 birthday party's for the kids, one here, and one at Alyssa's house or Aj's parents house. with Covid19 still spreading, we all are supposed to be social distancing. gatherings like this, especially people who aren't living together, is discouraged, as there's a pandemic going on,and you hear stories on the news, about gatherings, and people getting covid19. we were very worried going into the day, and experience.

We arrived at Alyssa's house a bit later, as my sister Jenn and family had stopped by our house to drop off some items which made us a bit late to the party, they didn't go to the party yesterday. they were concerned also, about covid, and we all aren't use too being around Aj's family. his family doesn't talk to us much, and they are quite rude, when it comes to the times we've gone over there, with them there.

When we arrived yesterday, Aj's family was there, my brother Bobby and family arrived before us, and also friends of Alyssa and Aj and family were there. so we were last to arrive. we walk over to the porch area, all of the seats are taken. my brother Bobby actually gave up his seat, so my mom could sit. We're already feeling extra uncomfortable, due to all of this. also Aj's family was staring at us all, even my mom and dad felt uncomfortable, and it takes a lot, for them to feel uncomfortable. like i said, we were there for the kids. with no seats, or any offers of seats.

so we're uncomfortable already, and then, the only area where we could sit, is the cement steps, my dad and Holly, both have bad backs, Holly has sciatia. we got to dish up foods, and were sitting in only area we could, the cement steps. the porch was packed, no seats. there was a garbage bag next to us too, and people throwing stuff away, a foot away from where we were eating. it was disgusting. we wanted to leave. later on,Holly almost fell, when we switched spots on the steps, she was falling into the bush/shrugs area, i even texted my mom, and she said, it feels very uncomfortable here. we continued to trooper through this experience, for the kids. Aj and his family, didn't say anything, to Holly and i, and it felt very uncomfortable. we would have loved to be on the porch, able to socialize, and to sit with everyone, it would have made us feel like we weren't outsiders. my dad left, he had to go to work, but Holly and i stayed.

around 4pm, when we were getting ready to leave, Alyssa then asks Holly if she needed a chair. about 2 hours late. very disrespectful. later on during the evening, i texted Alyssa, i told her what was going on, and how she, and Aj, and his family, made us all feel, very uncomfortable, and unwelcome, and that we had no seats, and just wanted to feel like we were a part of the party, being there, as guests. i shared with friends during the evening, and i got some hugs that made me feel upset and was insensitive toward what i was talking about, and that's not right. to be told, "get the anger out, and get the drama out of my head", it wasn't about anger, or drama, so who said that, please allow your friends here on ds, to fully explain what happened ,before you judge, or get judgemental and push aside their heart feelings. i'm always supportive, i've been here on DS for over 13 years, and i never tell anyone, to get the drama out of their head, my dad, Holly and i handled things respectfully yesterday. i'm supportive, and that's the right way to support your friends, and family of friends when someone like this comes up. i'm hurt, and my dad, Holly, and i don't deserve what happened to us yesterday, and to be treated like we were. it didn't anger us, didn't fill our heads with drama, it filled our hearts with hurt, and disappointment.

Alyssa apologized to us. i hope next time, we're treated better at the gatherings. i told her, we hope to be treated better, and to be able to fit in, and to be able to sit with everyone. it's all we wanted. we were guests there, we actually went. my sisterJenn, brother Charlie, sister Lisa (their grandma), didn't even go,my dad, Holly and i went, and made an appearance, to be there to celebrate the kids birthday's, it was about them. we were just asking,to be treated equally, and fairly. i'm upset too, that i reached out to friends yesterday evening, and being told it's about anger, and drama. no it isn't, it's about heart hurt, and not being treated like a guest. i will always support everyone ,and i will never be harsh to anyone here on DS, or in my life, anyone i encounter, i will always be supportive, and heart hear what the friend has to say, before i judge how to support that friend, the very best i can. i rarely ask for support. i'm more comfortable bing a supporter. i'm ashamed of Alyssa, Aj, and his family, on behalf of my dad, Holly, and i, and also my mom is quite disppointed too. i've helped Alyssa so much with $, over the past 5 or 6 years, to help pay for the triplets birthday's, and didn't expect anything, but i also didn't expect, my dad, Holly and i have to sit nearly 2 hours on cement steps, at the gathering, where everyone else, sat on the comfortable seats on the porch. Holly's back is hurting, and i'm very upset about this. i will write later, ijust want everyone to know, here on DS, if you have any issue come up, like this, and need support, you'll recieve my full support, and no judgementalness. i will forever support everyone fully :) thank you angel friends. :)

-never lose hope :)

Thank you angel Stephanie :) we're so glad, Alyssa Apologized, and we're most importantly very happy the kids had a good birthday :) it was special to our hearts, getting to be there for the kids :) as much as Alyssa, Aj, and his side of the family have major disfunctional issues, we still wanted to make sure we were there for the kids :) we are very hopeful, Alyssa and Aj will be better hosts next time, and have enough seating arrangements. it was extremely uncomfortable for my mom to be up on the porch and she even had a comfortable seat, but Aj's family was very anti-social, and it's very upsetting, we have a pandemic going on, covid19 still spreading ,and these types of gatherings are not encouraged, and alyssa and aj made everyone pretty much cram together on the porch, it wasn't smart of them, and also didn't allow for the ample amount of social distancing guidelines, which is 6 feet apart. We're thankful to be home, resting, and feeling much more comfortable today :) Thank you for your support, and care :) it means the world to me, that here on DS, i can reach out for support. :)
thank you again angel Stephanie :)

About my writings this early morning ,i wanted to add onto the writings.my dad's back is thankfully feeling ok, Holly though, is experiencing some back pain due to not having comfortable seating yesterday at the party. she's taking it easy, and gonna be ok :) our hearts are definitely hurt about the whole situation, and experience, and even my mom had a talk with Alyssa too. good. she needs to take responsibility along with Aj, for these types of things that go on. i'm no longer supporting Alyssa with anything financially, and i think it's for the best, as she needs to learn, lesson of spendings, doing better with her financial situations, and also treating her family fairly. we felt very heart bad about everything yesterday, and i'm so glad, and thankful i wrote a journal this morning, as it helps to write, it's theraputic, and i'm thankful for being able to reach out to friends for comforting support here on DS :) it's always been a special place, to give and recieve support :)

We love family gatherings, and party's, and we always want to have a good time at them :) it's unfortunate, that Aj's side of the family, aren't really friendly, and as much as we try to fit in, it's hard, and if you have social anxiety, or any kind of anxiety, or shyness, and already worried about feeling comfortable, it makes it much more hard to make it through those experiences and then to feel uncomfortable even more, it's upsetting. Jenn and family, make us feel comfortable, Bobby, family do too. it's something Alyssa and Aj need to work on, as a family :) it's truly not about drama, or anger, but it's about heart hurt feelings, our hearts hurt more than anything, due to the experience, and not feeling equal, and like we were a part of the gathering. they made my dad, Holly and i feel like outsiders. we literally could have been holding the garbage bag/can the whole time, and not even a word said to us. it was that upsetting.
i told Alyssa,i stood up for my dad, Holly and i, and us all, and said, next time, they need to treat us all fairly, equal, and as guests. to just have some seats, to be able to settle into the party, would have been nice :) my dad, Holly, and i really did well, with handling things, we didn't get angry, we didn't bring up any drama (even though Aj's family has drama, his own grandma didn't even come to the party, due to her having issues with Aj's uncle). we just wanted some seats, and to feel as comfortable as we could. we can't see ourselves going to Alyssa's and Aj's house ,anytime in the near future, unless we get some sort of continued word, that we'll have enough seats there, or we can bring our own seats. we're not putting ourselves through that again. my dad, was ready to leave, when we first got there, it was that upsetting ,and uncomfortable. next time, we recieve or endure any bit of uncomfortableness from the get-go, we'll leave immediately. we can't put ourselves through that again. Jenn and family didn't even want to go, and that right there goes to show, just how disfunctional, Alyssa, Aj, and his side of the family are. years ago, we'd prefer, that we do a party here for the triplets, and they can have another party for the triplets at aj's parents or their house. can't see ourselves socializing in any way with them, it's just too uncomfortable. we'd rather have a gathering here for the triplets birthday, and Alyssa and Aj can plan whatever they want over there. we have issues with Aj's family too, they all knew, Alyssa was having triplets in 2012, and didn't tell us. their drama, goes very deep. our side of the family here, isn't into drama. i just heard from my mom, that Aj's mom and his sister, were having issues arguing before the party, and that right there, shows their drama, even during a kids party. my dad, Holly and i were respectful, and didn't push the issues about not being comfortable, we were polite, quiet, and we still got the brunt of the uncomfortableness.

Hi Chris. So very sorry you and your family were treated so badly at the party. It is good that Alyssa apologized but what baffles me is that she didn't even realize that you guys were being disrespected until you told her. Like you said her and AJ need to work on family dynamics and what is correct protocol especially where your parents are concerned. So glad you and Holly made the best of a bad situation just so the boys could have a Happy Birthday celebration. Take care. Hugs. Debbie

Sorry to hear you had a tough time at the party mate, why didn´t they have enough chairs? Were you the last people to arrive? Anybody who arranges a party knows its basic to make sure you have enought seating for the guests. Sounds like they were not very forward thinking. I would give them another chance, you were assertive and told them how you feel so doubtful the situation will happen again. All the best.

Thank you sweet Elizabeth, for your support, and care. we appreciate everything.
we're doing a bit better, Holly's resting, she using a nice comfort pillow for her back. she has sciatia, and also has had back injuries and needing PT over the years. we were treated very poorly by Alyssa, Aj, and his side of the family. one of the guests there, a friend, of Alyssa who works with us, had a huge cooler, and even that cooler, had a spot on the porch, while the only seats for us, was the hard cement. there was just something very wrong, and not right about the entire day yesterday. Jenn and family didn't go, because they know how uncomfortable it is, being about Aj's side of the family. next year, Holly and i are gonna give the triplets their birthday gifts here at home, when they visit here, and certainly won't be subjecting ourselves to going to Alyssa's or Aj, unless we have some sort of trusting confidence that we'll be treated fairly there. just thinking about how everyone was throwing their trash away, a foot away from where we were trying to eat, very uncomfortable, and disrespectful. we're not angry, just heart hurt, and disappointed, we had to endure through hours of that yesterday. the way things Alyssa and Aj set everythings, we couldn't even taking pictures of the cupcakes, or the triplets birthday table. there was one point, where i just thought about putting my camera away, barely could take pics of them opening their gifts. very down on Alyssa and Aj, and his family right now, deservingly so. they were horrible hosts, and we felt very uncomfortable as their guests, and kinda wish we had just given the kids their gifts last tuesday (which was their real birthday (august 11th). i don't want to help Alyssa anymore, financially. this hurt too much, yesterday with all that happened, and i'm just so glad and thankful i can write here on ds. everyone knows, i love to write about nature, or gardening, but sometimes, gotta write about the issues, brought upon us sometimes, by others, and that's what happened to my dad, Holly, and i yesterday. i called Alyssa out on her saying ,she offered a seat to Holly. 6 minutes before we left, it would have been nice if we we re offered seats when we arrived. they can't make up for yesterday, it can't erase what happened, in our minds. it makes us not want to go to the next gathering there, which we shouldn't. we are glad the triplets had a good birthday, we tried to enjoy it for them, with us being there, it just was very uncomfortable. it's helping me to write, this isn't any anger, or drama from my dad, Holly and i, this is pure writings of heart hurt, and even though she apologized, it doesn't take away our heart hurt, she, Aj, and his family, and the discomfort they caused us. our absence at their future gatherings, will be a reminder to them, to please treat everyone fairly, because if we made the effort to go, we shouldn't have been treated like the trash. plain and simple. disappointed in Alyssa, Aj, and his side of the family. avoiding any gatherings of theirs in the future, will be good for our spirits, our hearts, and comfortableness.

Thank you angel friends, it's helped me a great deal, to write, and to share my heart feelings, not only for myself, but also for what my dad, and Holly went through yesterday. i feel for the hearts of everyone, who was treated like this too, it's extremely upsetting.
i have a friend here, who wrote to me, and i wanted the friend to know, we're ok, and that their hugs, and words to me about getting drama out of my head, and anger, which they had said to me, was not meant to hurt me, but was in a supportive way, to help me block out what had happened. i know misunderstandngs happen. i appreciate everyone's support. it's sometimes hard for me to reach out for support, and when i do, i'm sometimes told to move on, and it can make me feel nervous, about reaching out, as i don't want to burden anyone, and i want to feel comfortable talking, about things that come up. when we came home yesterday, i came right onto DS, and it was a big step for me to be able to bring up the issue, as much as i wanted to write in my journal, i was nervous, as i wanted my journal to be about the triplets birthday. i'm thankful i could tell my friend, i'm ok with them, and want them to know, i appreciate them :)
i'll always be the best friend i can be, and i appreciate everyone's reassurance, that it's ok to reach out for support :)

I'm so sorry that you were treated badly at the party. I hope Holly's back feels better soon. It's hard when you are with people who are not very social. It was rude for them not to have seating for you all. your Dad and Holly should not have had to sit on the floor. If they needed extra seats I'm sure they could have told you to bring your own seating cause there was not enough. Hopefully this will not happen again.
