Rough Day -Feeling Sorry For Myself

I need to unload, and don't want to do it to my 13 year old when he comes home tonight. I just plain feel awful. I'm just finishing my period which always aggravates my MD symptoms. So they've been gradually building up for several days now. I'm keeping vertigo at bay with the valium, but feel so awful and out of it I don't feel like doing anything and now today I'm at the point where I know if I take on any task involving movement I risk an episode. I just got diagnosed with low progesterone and low thyroid function. My colitis is flaring. I have been waking up in the mornings with swollen, stiff hands so I looked into that on-line and found I have had several symptoms of MS over the past few years. (I know, I shouldn't diagnose myself on-line. I am seeing appropriate docs and getting tests for all this stuff). And of course I'm perimenopausal. I'm divorced now and need to find a job and would love to have a man in my life...but how do I do those things when I can barely take care of myself, my son, my dogs and my house? I guess I'm just feeling overwhelmed. The MD is the worst. It just makes it so much harder to cope with everything else. When I'm not symptomatic I feel on top of the world. But when I get to this level of symptoms, I just get so down. I'm supposed to take my son to Indiana, where I grew up, at the end of March. Not really a great plan as spring is when my allergies are at their worst and therefore my MD. But now that I'm divorced and my ex and I share my son I don't have as many options for my time with him. I'm going to contact my ENT and get an oral course of steroids to take prior to the trip. That will hopefully keep things calm enough I can travel. I have been seeing an acupuncturist, and I felt it was really helping. And it may be. I haven't had a true vertigo episode so far this year. So that's something to be thankful for. I know there are always things to be thankful for. Sometimes it's just hard to remember what they are!

You are in my prayers. I found a lot of relief from a Upper Cervical Chiropractor. I feel like it gave me life back.

Prayers going out to you, you have so much on your plate but you seem to be hanging on. I know it\'\'s hard, I use to feel extremly horrible during that time of the month, I knew in advance I was going to be missing work. I am fortunate that I am now going through menopause. I am a single as well, and all my kids are now young adults and live on their own. They also had to learn to be patient and cope with this illness of mine. Please don\'t be hard on yourself. What you\'re feeling is very understanding. I think anyone in your shoes would feel the same way. One thing that I do when I feel horrible is I think....\"in 24 hours I will feel better\". I know its crazy but it helps me get through my tough times. Saying a special prayer for you tonight!

Thank you so much, all. I know someone else who said a cranial sacral adjustment helped them. I\'m trying acupuncture, I\'ll probably try an Upper Cervical Chiropractor next. Thanks for reminding me! And you\'re right, it does help to remind myself that this, too, shall pass. But boy does the waiting suck! Thanks again guys!
