Rough Day
Is my day off. Had my tasks planned out, as usual, he is throwing a monkey wrench into things. Says to wait til after the DR appt to get the tires checked (needed air for days... just a lb here or there fluctuation, but I have a distance to go on wet roads and worry)
I also heard him on the phone planning another stop that he failed to mention. Then there will be stopping for groceries again because there is not enough crap in the house. I am struggling again. Last two days have been picking at junk. Rightn now he is adding more to the list and I do so want a half gallon of ice cream to help me feel better. (temporarily, til the guilt and anger at myself set in. )
Will find out if he will be going and staying in the hospital again tomorrow. (I work, but think his sister should take him if that is the case. So I don't have to be running after work to go get the car or chauffeur him back.) One thing I do definitely do is to schedule that appt with a new attorney. If I do only get that done, will be a good day. PLease send a few good thoughts and prayers my way as I can definitely use them right now. Thanks.

Hugs Kim.
You need to take care of you. Do they have such a thing as uber where you live? Does he ever try to at least compromise for you or try to help. You with other stuff he can?
I'm sorry you end up putting up with a lot of shit. Which isn't fair.
What would happen if you did the things that were most important without his approval? Just wondering.
Hang in there, Kim. Hope Appt. with new attorney turns out good in your favor. You need to get things rolling and get out of all the hassle and drama that you've been dealing with for so long.
He needs to hire a caregiver and quit making you do everything. My mom pulls the same shit. People like that just don't realize we have a life too and don't exist to act on their every whim. But it's probably cuz we spoil them because it's better than hearing them bitch about how selfish and ungrateful we are. Narcissists are the worst, especially the lazy ones.
Tomorrow is my day off. I hope it goes better than yours.
Better to eat ice cream than drink alcohol I guess.
If you don't want to wait to check the tires, then don't. He can do nothing without you, so you are in charge of the decision making. Instead of getting mad or frustrated just don't argue and do what you planned on doing. You don't need an attorney to assert control in your day to day life. So I hope you can just take time today to not let him run the show. That would be a good day!
PS: that's staying in the moment
Perhaps the hospital can keep him for an extended period.
lb--- I think that I would like to donate him for a very extended stay. lol
The day did go ok. I again did conform a bit but once I got his errands done, I did my own thing . The foot DR seemed to think it actually looked a smidge better. and seems to think they may just do IV antibiotics for 6 weeks at home. Of course tomorrow is when he sees infectious diseases and wound control and they will ultimately decide what to do with him. I am hoping all goes ok.
I did my pt and then went to town on the bike. Pedaled away and just zoned out and took out frustration. probably did an hour and got in 1800 steps. Felt good to take the bull by the horns and do what I set out to do (and then some) Just finished a very healthy dinner and going to do up dishes, get my shower and sort through and record all appts (his and mine) I did not get to schedule my consult yet, but once I have all the appts in will be much easier to make arrangements.
Oh yeah, the heating element went in the dryer. Oh happy day. Luckily just a small load but is now hung over the rack set up in the dining room. Never a dull moment. (Big frown) Overall , still an ok and productive day... and that is all I can ask for these days.
Thanks for all the thoughts and kind words.
If he does go in again...he will be staying in for rehab. I am not dealing with him first thing at home. Is too much and he would do better if he had medical staff there to push him (therapy and personal care) We should know more tomorrow.
Sorry you had a rough day Kim
UPDATE--- He saw the specialists. No further surgery or hospitalization (now anyway) He will be doing iv antibiotics at home for several weeks. Visiting nurses are coming more often. I am hanging in and breathing a bit easier about that.
It’ll be ok. Take it a day at a time for your own sanity. Keep taking care of YOURSELF.
I agree with rmb. You need to take care of you. I think it would be good if you could get your self out when you can and do something for your self to keep you happy and maybe meet up with a close friend for lunch or with some 1 close in your family. Its ok to do something for your self.
