Romance in Reykjavík: Moody Elopement on Iceland’s Black Beach

Margaux and Dylan met during an editorial inspiration shoot, and then once again later on where they acted as the couple. Well, they took their roles very seriously—and actually did fall in love! Fast forward a bit to a dreamy hike, surrounded by nature and breathtaking landscapes: Dylan proposed! As it turns out, this was the same hike they first did together as a couple, so everything came sort of full circle. :)
Margaux tells us: One of our biggest dreams to is go see the Aurora Borealis in Iceland. When it came time to planning our destination elopement—Iceland seemed like a natural choice. A country rich in natural space, sumptuous landscapes and especially where we could potentially admire the lights…so, we went on an adventure in unknown territory for the best day of our lives!
Who else feels like wandering through Iceland? Let’s take a peek at all the dazzling captures from Loric Gonzalez, planned out by Label Emotion!
On the Beach

The first night, when we arrived in Reykjavik, we had the most beautiful welcome committee we could hope for: The Aurora Borealis. It was such a wonderful chance to witness this dance of lights in the sky…and a wonderful start to our stay.

Bundled up in a textured dress by Elodie Courtat + a crochet shawl—Margaux’s bridal look was all about layering different fabrics to go from cozy to sensual. ;)

The Ensembles

How sharp does Dylan look in this floral suit jacket?

Diane Cornu created a bouquet that will never die—out of paper flowers! Margaux’s headpiece was also made with these darling designs.
The Abandoned Plane

Somewhere in Sólheimasandur is this black sand beach and an abandoned DC plane wreck. Curious about touring the country? Check out this Iceland travel guide!

For places where it might be difficult to obtain florals or to prevent invasive species from being brought in—you could always craft your own DIY silk flower bouquet!

How dreamy is that light?

The Newlyweds

Our wedding was just us, our photographer, videographer, and our wedding planner. We took to the road to admire all the incredible landscapes: waterfalls, lava desert, we walked on a glacier, and raced on a black sand beach. It was three days filled with absolute bliss.

Would you and your love travel to another location to say your vows? If so, where would you go? We’d love to hear in the comments below!
