Rollercoaster emotions
I feel like physically and emotionally that I am on an unending rollercoaster! Some days my pain isn't too bad and other days it's horrendous! My bowel movements are all over the place. Some days I have 10 or more bowel movements a day passing very small amounts. Sometimes I have to really strain to have even one bowel movement. Other days I'm just bloated, gassy and pass only a little liquid stool. I've been using metamucil and a stool softener twice a day every day. I haven't been sleeping well. I'm either too hot or too cold, in pain or have to get up to go to the bathroom. I always have very little energy but some days I am really weak not able to open the pull tab on a can of soup. I never know from day to day how I'm going to feel. I know this is all normal, par for the course but it's really hard! I have to be patient with myself and realize that I had a major surgery, that it will take a long while to feel better and for my bowels to regulate. There's a chance that my bowels will never completely regulate. I'm on a normal diet but still learning what foods help and which ones make it worse. I drink a lot and try to eat more fiber. It helps going on the colon cancer message board on here and one called The Colon Club. Also all the support from my friends on here and people on the other boards on here. I get lonely while my boyfriend is at work all day. He's gone from 11:15am until about 9:07pm because of the bus. Pathology results still aren't back. It's so hard to wait for them!

I\'m so sorry you are going through all of this. I am glad you are on DS and can vent in a safe place. So important to let it out! Do you take magnesium? I have no idea if it would be appropriate for you right now but it\'s one of the only things that helps me with my BM\'s.I take a powder fform that\'s highly absorbable called Natural Calm. It also helps me sleep. Your Dr would know whether if would be helpful or hurtful.
I can imagine how hard it is to wait on the pathology. I hope you hear from them very soon! Sending lots of love and light to you brave one...
I am sorry that you are having such a rough time in this area. This process is all too familiar with me so I know.
I also take Natural Calm, ( I get it for $19.99 and last a month or two) it comes in flavors. I was drinking 2-8 ounce cups a day to help keep regulated and for restless leg syndrome. I had 1 cup in the a.m. and 1 cup at bedtime. I\'m down to 1 cup every other day now
Also, your ELETROLYTES may be deficient so check into that, those can cause lethargy as well as low Bs. At this point maybe you need a multivitamin to maintain your nutrients -- get some medical advice on this tho.
I hope you start to feel better soon.
I will look into that thanks. Today I\'ve been having loose stools/diarrhea. I\'m not sure if my electrolytes have been checked or not. My surgeon\'s office is closed until Monday.
Glad you are here-not for your health problems, but because of you :) Ms strong tuff lady who will get thru these times and figure out your tricks of the what helps and what doesn\'t..then they won\'t be able to sit on ya to hold you still :)
Thanks annette! :) You\'re right I will get through this and figure out my tricks! I just have to be patient because it takes time! I\'ve never had such a life changing major surgery.
