roller coaster

It feels like I have been on a roller coaster the last couple of days.  We are now in Ottawa with our granddaughter, her dad and his fiance.  My emotions have been up and down.  We visited Lisa's grave yesterday.  Beth has been tending it - Beth is my SIL's fiance.  She was also Lisa's good friend.
Last night we went to Cevyn's dance recital.  It was very emotional. Lisa studied ballet, jazz and tap for several years - she loved to dance.  Cevyn was never interested in lessons but took dance at school this year. Her dad said she needed to do something that was physical e.g. phys ed.  She hated it last year so opted for dance.  It is the best thing she has done.  She was behind to start as most of her class took it last year too.  But she was great!  Me, not so much.  All the memories of Lisa's dance recitals and competitions bombarded me.  I cried through most of it.  I know Lisa would be so proud.  I sure was! I was able to wipe away the tears when she was on stage.
Today we went to Beth's moms and brother's home for turkey dinner with 20 other of their friends and relatives.  Again, it was great but again, I felt sad that Lisa is not here to celebrate her favorite holiday.  It will be a week of ups and downs.
But I do know that Beth is a wonderful person.  I am blessed to have her.  She makes Cevyn happy.  This is now a happy home and Lisa is not forgotten.  But i am so sad.
On the upside, Lisa's story made the papers.  As you may recall, she died during her second surgery.  All indications are that the doctor did not treat her appropriately when she had complications - it resulted in the loss of our precious Lisa.  Since she died 2 years ago, 2 more people have died and I believe there was a death before Lisa (that I was unaware of).  A reporter found the story and it has been in the papers across Canada.  I am glad as I know people are having second thoughts. Certainly some will have the surgery, but they know that it is not without risk.
Tomorrow we are invited to another Christmas dinner at a neighbour's house.  They have been friends since Lisa and Harvey moved here.  Again, it will be hard but I will get through it.
Lisa:  You would be so incredibly proud of Cevyn.  She is a credit to you. I miss you always and love you forever. Mum

Sounds like a roller coaster ride for sure...trying to get as much rest as possible is so important during these kinds of days...
I feel sure that Lisa is right there seeing Cevyn and her accomplishments...it only seems like Lisa is unaware perhaps, but I believe that they are fully aware, as our Bible states \"Then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known\"--that verse gives me much confidence in knowing that THEY know what\'s going on around us.
May the rest of your time be gentle and restorative while away.
Love+Hugs, Donna
