Well, and during my visit to Bielsko I met that friend of my sister's, Rauchman. Thanks to her I have my only photograph of my sister. The Prussian military had separate churchbooks for BMD events of people employed by the military. While these BMD events were also commonly included in the civil churchbooks, military churchbooks can provide additional information and be a useful resource for areas where other records are sparse. For the districts of Militsch, Wohlau, and Steinau, as well as partly other parts of Silesia there is the site meine-ahnen.eu, which archives civil status registers, church records and documents that are privately held.
