River Bound
The one remaining room in the volunteer rennovation project I have been working is looking like more work than it is worth. The occupant is not unhappy with it the way it is and it's place next to the geriatric parent-child room is . . . sensitive. Today finds me putting finishing touches on the room I have been working in while I prep Boy Toy for the next leg of the journey.
I now sit a 30 minitue or so drive from where the Susquehanna River feeds into the Chesapeake Bay. The fact that it flows to the Atlantic keeps the Susqehanna River from being part of my mid-continental hydrology survey, but its headwaters are in the same neighborhood as the Allegheny River headwaters. The Allegheny is a major tributary to that mid-continental hydrology. It has been prominent on my research list for a very long time. Now feels like a good time. The critical persons in the decision are all saluting. I feel blessed.
My current notion is to follow the Susquehanna River to the New York/Pennsylvania border and make the short westward jog over to over to the Allegheny to follow it southward to Pittsburg. Unfortunately I am still touring from roads instead of rivers, but I works with what life sends me.
We see how she flows. . .

Wishing you the very best! :)
If you like bluegrass, the Wind Gap Bluegrass festival is coming up...next week I think. I'm not sure about hotels or where to stay. I went with a friend and slept in my car.
I'm from the region you're aiming for on my dad's side, know the A-river from Kinzua to P-burgh, a few nice side trips up in the northern reaches (if you like virgin pine stands, there's one called Heart's Content... Not quite coastal redwoods or sequoia out in Cali, but impressive nonetheless to me)...You may be near the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, which is a worthy side trip, IMO.... Sorry, shutting up, there's nothing like getting lost in the wilds back there for me.:-)
Safe and peace on your journey.
The departure time stalled out. Here it is the next day and I am still here. Gonna blame that on sis.
Well, DOS it all. . . Delusional Old Sisters can derail each other with natural ease.
This is me, going with the flow. . .
