Right now I hate Facebook
I have been missing an old friend and for about the 20th time I looked for her on FB, then I looked for her daughter who I was also close to once. I left Leslie a message and waited. She answered back that she didn't know who I was. OK, it had been a while and this was out of the blue so I replied with a reminder. Now she seems genuinely happy to hear from me and soon we will be catching up. My heart is beaming for this. So I go to Leslie's timeline and find a pretty thing with flowers and a nice saying about "If your mother is in Heaven and you still pick up the phone to call her." I keep telling myself that it is not about her mom. It has to be about maybe her mother in law or perhaps her friend's mom. Just not my friend Jeannie.
So now I wait for the phone call that may or may not come to inform me that my dear friend who I lost contact with is gone. In the mean time I will try to understand why we lost contact. There was no falling out, never a harsh word and I truly love this woman. I feel so sad that I could allow this to happen. To lose contact with a loved one is not acceptable. How could I have done this?

Oh Colleen...life gets in the way...and oftentimes we just don\'t stay in touch...I hope your friend is okay...hugging you..Karen
It is true, we lose touch with those we believe we never will... people move, we get so tied up in our day by day stuff that time just flies...
Praying your friend is ok, and I think I will send a note to my 2 girlfriends who I have not had contact with in along time.. thanks for the nudge.

Ditto....life gets busy. Please don\'t beat yourself up over this. Keeping in touch is never just one persons responsibility. I do hope all is well with your friend and she contacts you soon. If it is not to be, say a prayer of friendship and gratitude for the time you had and tell her you love her....she\'ll hear you.
So true...life does get in the way. I hope you get good news about your friend. Hugs, Linda
