revelations about evelyn from resorts and richard at upstate new york
talked to evelyn from the resorts. she is on facebook with one of my step-cousins -- a normal one. i always forget that evelyn was their "babysitter-trade" many years ago. small world. the reason was that bethr who was a friend of both evelyn and i, from the resorts, had offered evelyn stay at her house when evelyn's mother got a job working nights back when evelyn's father was ill. [back then it was the parents with health issues. now its us and we are the parents age. so weird. still adjusting to that.] turns out bethr's mother, who was always so nice and friendly, decided to charge for this even though evelyn was 16, and was started acting perverted to evelyn. wth?
then everyone starts their crap that evelyn must be wrong, so they taped bethr's mother saying crap to evelyn. police didn't do anything about it anyway. bethr's father was an optometrist and seemingly a friendly, normal family. why is there always some kind of crap lurking -- peel the onion and it reeks. evelyn is so cool she actually left beth's in the middle of the night, like 10:00 and went to my cousin's house as they were looking for a babysitter as a trade anyway, because my cousin's mother was working nights as well and her parents were ill -- 4 kids were too much for them. evelyn cooked for the kids and then would fall asleep safe and sound reading a book. this stuff was always gossip and i always thought the whole story was boring. so what. she babysat for a cheap price with people working nights. so? i don't think i ever comprehended the rest of it until NOW. so much for me. lol.
amazing they are still in touch, but just on facebook. it made things really awkward for bethr because people discovered what her mother (parents) were really like. i used to think the gossip on that, was because bethr's parents were related, not this other stuff. this is all in new york city - not down south. if i said it to my dad, he would say, its legal to marry relatives in the south and he'd get mad and think it was stupid.
in nyc relatives don't marry, its not legal, in fact, nowadays its not legal anywhere. he must have known about beth's mother's going after evelyn thing as well, and not thought anything of it. i think anything having to do with sex back then went right over my head. i would have thought they meant assault and battery. it becomes, do you get that part yet, the sex part. and its like, no it never would have occurred to me at all. i would have blamed bethr's father. the mother part, i wouldn't have understood. evelyn thinks the world of my cousin's family, including my cousin's mother and vice versa, saved the day kind of thing.
my cousin's mother partied a lot, but was normal i guess and "popular" which is cool for a teenager, and evelyn had that very stable, head together kind of personality with a lot of drive. she learned to cook with the kids, so they loved being around her and she was a good student so helped the kids with homework and she insisted tutoring the kids also made HER a better student [the easiest way to learn, is to teach]. it all worked. so, bethr's perverted mother was a blessing in disguise, as scary and disgusting as that is. she says my cousins became a second family to her, until she left for college. i never realized they were that close. shows how little i pay attention. lol. but its far away in nyc and by then we were probably living in florida. i only used to see them once per year at the most.
the other revelation was my cousin richard, i would have seen him for the last time around 1991, because as it was they are the step side of the family and my family wanted all of them out of the picture completely in 1982, so visiting with any of them was another problem. richard doesn't make trouble, just like the nyc ones don't make trouble. he was supposed to meet me at a cousin in new york - upstate and was a no show. didn't understand until NOW, that he didn't show because he didn't have money for gas. (the 90's are college years for all of us.) having no money for gas, never occurred to me at all back then (gas used to be cheap. lol) and i didn't comprehend until NOW. why in the world am i like that. the only thing i recalled with that is he said he was coming up, so i drove over to that area at another cousin (who is trouble), like an hour away (she said it was closer) as i was rarely in new york state back then, and then richard was a no-sho. and i was like, well, no sho. no sho. that's it.
my own family sits there going, see. they aren't worth knowing. then choice words about people from the northeast, on and on, split families are always like that. calling them irresponsible assholes. and you go with that, and out of sight is out of mind. just as well. there is too much drama and crap if they are around. now we have internet and facebook and everything comes out again. nice revelation though.

Wow. Such a very complex and complicated happenings.
Truth is alway\'s stranger than fiction.
everything with the people i know in the northeast is always complex and complicated -- never as it appears to be -- though i have discovered since then, the peeling the onion and it will reek, exists everywhere. fannie flagg gets into that in her writings and cracks me up everytime. she has a comical attitude with it, like either laugh or cry. i usually avoid it when its complicated though. its easier.
evelyn was also supposed to represent rachel for modelling as a little kid, wonder how much her father screwed that up, (he screwed up all of pm\'s eduction for being a scientist by poisoning her). just thinking about those hideous people in the northeast enrages me, if i actually SAW them not sure what i\'d do. disgusting people.
