Rev. Dr. Denny Shipp
First, let me say that " When I converse with my friends here, it is as a friend, NOT as a Minister! I do not throw religion at anyone. I am like all of you...in pain and sometimes need to vent. It is nice to have friends here. Now, about me...
When I was a young man (late teens) I had gotten on the wrong side of the law. It happens when you accept people for who "You" think they are... anyway, I had a trial coming up and I was terrified! Literally terrified, crying hysterically and begging GOD for help and guidance. I had a loaded 22 cal gun in my lap. HE answered me. Being religious but a skeptic, I asked for proof 3 times, and 3 times he (visually) answered me. I dropped the gun...ran into my house and jumped into bed...shaking like a leaf with the covers over my head. I felt like a tiny ant in a very large room. Then I heard a voice... not in my head, actually with my ears. HE said "Why are you hiding? I am here with you...I am everywhere you go.... I am every tree, every blade of grass. I am always with you...YOU ARE NEVER ALONE!
All of a sudden I felt very calm...... I removed the covers and sat on the edge of the bed. I saw no one but felt a presence. I asked for help and heard in my head "It will be all right...you will see". I asked if HE was calling me (Ministerially)...HE answered (again in my head)...Not yet, one day... you will know. He was right, all went well. At 26 years old I married a nurse from the local ER where I took patients, over the last 35 years (July 19) I have two sons and a daughter. I have always talked to Jesus and to GOD but am not sure if I hear HIS voice or just my own thoughts...... At the age of 59 I heard the calling..... more of the words ...."You are ready now, it is time to answer ME"
Rev. Dr. Dennis H. Shipp was Ordained on March 14, 2009 after over 34 years as a firefighter. Disabled from a motorcycle accident in 2001, he knew that GOD had saved his life for a 3rd time. I studied hard and after many exams was Ordained as a Minister. Rev. Denny received his Doctorate later that same year! Rev. Denny helps in Pastoral Counseling, sexual abuse and performs marriages. Rev Denny, his wife and son are moving to N. E. Alabama in 2010.
In response to an email, I would never "push" my religion or any religion to anyone. In the last thirteen months, I have performed 8 marriages and none of them have been religious, all have been Spiritual. If you do not believe in God fine, but do not criticize me if I represent him in my life and in other lives.

I find this journal very interesting. I had always considered myself to be a faithful person to God but with what I have experienced over the last 2 years, the miracles that God has shown me... well, I never would have come this far without faith. Be blessed, always.
What most do not understand, we have 5 senses....sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Our PHYSICAL body has there, our SPIRITUAL body has these and our SOUL has these. When you body gives out, the PHYSICAL body dies, the SOUL goes back to GOD but your SPIRITUAL body is here, with US, trying to guide us and comfort us as we live on. I have learned this through my SEER training. I have always seen something out of the corner of my eye since childhood. My 6th sense is sharper than most other people. I can sometimes almost see the spirit with someone and tell you if a house is (supposedly ) haunted. I love it though it scared the heck out of me as a child.
what an amazing experience you had! I\'m glad you heard god talking to you and changed your mind..really moving story .thanks for sharing it even though i\'m reading your journal..lol..but it is inspirational...
However we find God is our own journey. God talks to us all, tho, it seems, few listen. We all know whats right and wrong for the most part. In this crazy mixed up world where war is considere righteous, and PIcasso is STILL considered a genius in his paintings (ha) it\'s difficult to follow your own heart. In my life, I often opt for the underdog when there is injustice. Sometimes it comes back to slap me in the face, but that\'s alright. I\'m good in the eyes of God and it always comes back to me in grace and kharma. hugsxxxxx
Many \"hear\" HIM but dismiss it as their own thoughts! We become so involved in LIFE we loose the ability to listen to with HIM who gave it to us!
Had a wonderful Birthday at the lake with friends (one from here) and family! Just a totally awesome day. Got home around 5:30 and fell asleep on the couch at 6!! Exhausted!
Glad to hear you had such a good birthday. Thats wonderful. I hope you have a good year ahead
