Reuben

His name is Reuben.  He's my next door neighbor,,,the one with the chained dogs.  Let's see,,going along the fence line, there's AJ, named Little Girl by me when I first met her, Love, an ugly little girl if I've ever seen one(evil eyes), Little One(My favorite and whose name I don't know even though he's second is length of time here.),,lives in the back corner,,,and Boots, the oldest and lives in the middle of yard and has a house.  I love them dearly and try to help and love therm as much as possible although it's kinda hard with Boots.  Reuben is the guy who brought me Thanksgiving dinner during my hard time and gave me a couple of treats from his grill a few months ago.  He likes to grill and makes a variety of meat when he does and it smells so great.  Well, last night, about 10 as I was was trying to fall asleep,(It'd been an hour of trying.) Foxy started barking and raising a ruckus like somebody was trying to break into the house.  I jumped up without turning on any lights and was heading to the living room when I heard a knock on the door.  I looked through the peep hole and there was Reuben.  Without opening the door, I yelled, "Can I help you?"  He said he had something for me.  I cracked open the door and there he stood with a bowl of grilled meat.  He said he wanted to give it to Foxy and me!  This is a man who trying to support his family working odd jobs and just barely making it and he's got meat for me!  A lunch which was going to have sweet potato patties, white beans and left over cornbread, will now have a chicken leg quarter, a couple of short ribs, and a sausage.  A better neighbor I could not have!

Reading this did my heart \'good\' in ways that I know you can relate to well.

I\'m smiling for you and for us as a \'human race\' that desperately needs to have more of this, \'Love thy neighbor\', going on.

This really was very good learning about this.

This man is truly a great neighbor! We used to have such friendly neighbors on my street when we first moved here, but a lot have moved on and things have changed. I really miss that. If i was your neighbor, i\'d invite you for dinner, guaranteed! Much hugs and kisses, Deb :o)
