Retrieval Report
I've been sleeping on and off all day since this morning's ER. They were able to get 3 eggs from my right ovary and 1 from my left and my right side has been sore and crampy all day. The ER was not what I expected - I sorta thought it might be similar to my endoscopy last month regarding the anesthesia but it was worse. For a 10 minute procedure, it left me with a terrible sore throat and I guess at the very end, I started to wake up and I moved while the Dr. was getting the last egg which caused me to bleed more than I should have. So I am on antibiotics. I have had a bad sore throat all day too, which they say is from the anethesia.
I was in the recovery area with a woman who was doing conventional IVF - she is 29 and they got 39 eggs from her!! I heard that and I thought at first I was delirious, but nope, it was true. She was very sweet and when I told her my age, she said, "Oh wow, you don't look (get ready for it) THAT OLD." Um, thanks!?
Anyway, overall I feel pretty good about my experience and I am just hoping for a good report tomorrow from the embryologist. Will keep you posted!
Thanks again for all of your support, it means the world to me and like I've said, I would have not gotten this far without it. I was accidently logged onto DS all day but haven't been active but without seeing the details, I noticed there's been a lot of controversy today. Although there can be some real idiots out there, I feel good about my network of wonderful women here and wish only the best for those genuine people who have supported me in this journey.

What a way to wake up ! You are so not old and I can\'t believe she made that comment. She must have been under a little too. Your result with a mini IVF are amazing so don\'t think about her numbers. Quality is better than quantity with IVF and I\'m sure you have 4 prime quality eggs.
Try to get some rest. You might not feel better tomorrow but you should be fine by transfert. Drink lot\'s of fluid, I like coconut water but lot\'s of girls drink gatoraid and indulge in ice cream because of the tubing.

I am sorry your in pain. Although it sounds strange drinking Gatorade can help your ovaries recover. It has to do with the electrolytes. My RE always recommends it. Four eggs is fantastic! Woo Hoo!!! I can\'t wait to hear your fertilization report. Will you be doing a day 3 transfer? How many will you be transferring. I am so excited for you. My fingers are crossed that this is it!

SO happy they got that many eggs!! And hey, looking younger even when you\'re not OLD is always a plus. I\'m sure she meant well lol. I can\'t wait to hear the fert report!!
Hang in there. That\'s a great number. When I went in for my lonely 1 embie transfer there was a gal who got 22 and was over the moon because the last time they \"only\" got 9----haha, you don\'t want to know my response to that :-) Good job.
