retreat
Is there a list of Moms who will be attending the retreat? Last year was quite overwhelming for me and while I met many wonderful Moms, I must admit that I do not remember who each one was. This year I would like to be able to "study" who is coming and try to familiarize myself a bit with their story...also to be able to put their real name with their FMO name. I am l8gra, also known as Lynn Gray and Clinton's Mom. I am so looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I don't keep up with new Moms nearly as well as I would like. It certainly is not because I do not care, I just don't have as much computer time as I would like.
In 3 short days it will have been 4 years since Clinton's accident. It seems like forever since I have heard his voice, received a hug from him and seen his handsome face, and yet it seems like yesterday that he was snatched away from this world that I still live in. Some days I am able to handle it with smiles and gratitude for the precious gift he was in my life. Other days I am just plain mad and broken beyond words. You all know what I'm talking about, I'm sure.

Lynn, I am not coming to this year\'s gathering, so you do NOT have to look me up, but I like the way you are preparing! It\'s an inspiration. I hope to be there next year. I can tell -- one day before the day Andy died last year -- that this place is one of my \'homes\' and that I will not stop needing the very healing compassion and kindness I find here. I am so sorry about Clinton and hope to learn more about him too.
Peace, Sarah
Lynn...there is a list! What a great idea...we will email it to the moms that are attending...thanks!
Hello Lynn, I am going to the retreat. My name is Linda and my only child, Eddie, passed away 20 months ago at the age of 37 from a heart attack. He was asymptomatic.
My responses are the same as yours in this tragedy. Most of the time I am able to be grateful and other times...well you know what that\'s like already.
I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your precious Clinton through you. Love and peace, Linda
Hi Lynn, I was going to ask for a list myself so I\'m glad that you asked! My name is Diane. My son, Jared, passed nineteen months ago at the age of 26, and I sure do know what you are talking about. I am still a mixed bag of emotions. I also wish I could journal and respond more to the wonderful moms on FMO, but time, primarily lack thereof, is my problem. All I seem to do is work work work. I sure could use this retreat. I probably met you at last year\'s retreat but I don\'t remember. I will send you a friend request. Love, Diane
Hi Lynn, It\'s me again. I was going to send you a friend request, but you are already on my friends list! See what I mean? I really need to get on here more often. : )
hahahahaha! Barbara and I did this same thing!!! I like to be prepared too! Yes, there is a list. If you need me to send it to you I will be happy to...just let me know.
And yes, we do understand....
Love ya roomie...see you soon!
We will have more time to say hello this year and get to know each other,,,but your idea for a list is great.. looking foreward to seeing you again..Nora
I\'m a fairly new Mom on FMO, my son died on 3/17/2011 I won\'t be able to go to the retreat this year and I\'m truly hoping I can next year. The picture of your son shows he was very handsome. Have a great time on the retreat and I hope to see you next year. Terry
Hi Lynn, Great idea! I have the list of people attending the retreat and I will send it out to all the email addresses of retreat attendees. I was at last year\'s retreat too but, like you, I was overwhelmed. I feel like I was kind of in a fog most of the weekend but, I do know that I needed to be there and felt the comfort and love of all the moms there throughout the whole weekend. My son Greg died February 6, 2009. You describe exactly how I feel....I\'ll see you in Asheville....
I will be attending and cannot wait to see you. I was at last years retreat and it was overwhelming. I am Joanne Ravida munrogirl my son is Anthony and e died August 2008 from a drug overdose. I got my list today thank you ladies
It will be four years for me on the 30th and I hear and feel your words about finding gratitude, yet feeling mad and broken. That is exactly how I fee too. So unfair, yet so awesome to be their mothers, however short the time. See you soon. Love Robin
Lynn, I will be there. This is a great idea. I too was a bit overwhelmed last year and never did get to meet some of the moms. Can\'t wait to see you. Hugs, Kim
Hi Lynn, I too was at the retreat last year...and like you, felt overwhelmed yet somehow comforted and loved all at the same time. I love your list idea...I\'m gonna try to study mine too! I\'m Valerie...mom of Jeremy and Mike...my only two children. Jeremy was 16 when he was in a fatal car accident 8/6/97. Mike was 22 when he was in a fatal car accident on 9/5/09. Can\'t wait to see you in June...btw June 10 would have been Jeremy\'s 30th birthday....love to you, Valerie
I had prepared to come to the retreat yesterday and that is what I did...I went through the names and wrote their names down, their child\'s name, how their child went to Heaven, and dates....then I changed my mind on coming to the retreat...but it was still great getting to know each one just by reviewing their profiles....If I was coming this year I would do that again too. Hope you find great peace and joy at the retreat...Sandi
I liked your comment about some days just being plain mad and broken beyond words. That is a good description of me. I wish I was able to go to the retreat. I think I would enjoy it, even though I am not a very social person. My Jeff would have been 40 in June. Your Clinton must have been a really amazing person.
