Retiring

I'm retiring!  I went to the social security office this morning and got some great news.  I can retire now and still apply for disability.  Filled out all the paperwork and will get my first social security check in June.  When the disability is approved, my check will go up.  Plus, I can earn up to $1,000 per month until I go on disability, then that amount will go down.  So, I'll keep looking for work and possibly find a part time job to supplement my social security.  Sure glad I went by this morning!

Oh wow - this is the best news!!! I have been thinking of your situation and feeling overwhelmed that I could not think of anyway to assist. I don\'t even believe the churches are willing to help poor people survive any longer and they are mostly about playing golf and greed anymore anyway.

I am on complete disability with my husband\'s SSA and it gives me 75% of what he would receive so it is not easy surviving this way by any means but I am holding on so far.

I\'m just so relieved that you have this option and found out about it.

Life is just too overwhelming at times.

Congrats, Mike. I like to keep the thought that things will eventually come out for the better if you wait long enough. But sometimes, i also think that i\'ll be dead and dust before that happens to me, lol. Hugs and kisses, Deb :o)
