Retirement reception
I completed my final school year on Friday. After 34 years in the same school (37 years total), I will no longer dread the end of summer! lol! My dear school family planned a beautiful reception with former and present staff, teachers, and former students. I grew up at my school. I was 26 my first year there and just turned 60 as I end my teaching career. While I have been so looking forward to retirement, it is so very bittersweet without Jeff being here with me to share this huge change in life.
This week has been the hardest week since I lost my love last October. I wanted him to read all the wonderful letters I received from my co-workers. I wanted to tell him all the nice things parents and students said to me. Jeff was always my biggest cheerleader when I'd get discouraged or frustrated with the changes that came in education. He always loved hearing my stories about the students I loved.
I really, really miss you, Jeff.
