Resting

I rested all day yesterday.  Slept from 9am to 11:45am.  Ate lunch.  Slept from 1:30p to 4:30p.  Ate dinner.  Laid down at 8:00pm but seriously ill with my stomach until a took a nausea pain at 11:30pm.  Slept all night.  Woke up at 7:00am.  My joints are kicking my butt right now.  I am coming off the steroids now.  The doctors office called and my SED rate is normal and my thyroid is normal.  That is good but I don't understand having a normal SED rate having a Lupus/MCTD flare and severe joint pain.  I don't understand....

It\'s really nice that u got a lot of rest as rest really helps to make us feel better and if u can sleep and rest all the more power to u. If I could sleep I would too as I love to sleep. It\'s also nice u r eating your meals. I always enjoy eating my meals too. I\'m really sorry u r not feeling well despite getting good test results with your thyroid and SED rate. I hope u will feel better. Much love and hugs. I\'m thinking of u and wishing u well and very grateful to be one of your friends. U r so nice. Hugs and love.

Unfortunately, while the SED rate is supposed to be a good predictor of inflammation, it isn\'t always. Some doctors believe that C-reactive protein is a better indicator. Not sure if that test is used in patients with lupus, though. I\'m glad that you got plenty of rest, and hope that you feel better soon!
