responsibility

my irresponsible actions will make others sick, or worse, die...
been on hyper-alert for over 10 years, but always seem to do things to go
against this desire.to keep others safe...
when fishing with my son last week (I never fish-son wanted to) off a pier,
my line got tangled and I couldn't reel in my line and bait....
for some reason, instead of pulling in the line by hand (would have taken a few minutes),
I cut the line, thus sending the bait, hook and line down to the bottom of the water.
Soon thereafter, and for the past 10 days, I have been worrying that a fish will take the hook,
get it stuck in his stomach, and someone who catches the fish will wind up eating it and accidentally
ingesting the hook.  Can barely think of anything else.
