research study patient?
So much has happened this year. I'm not in a good place but I don't want to go there.
My psychiatrist wants me to do a type of study, where they may give you the drug or the placebo pill, with a new drug called cariprazine.
I probably should post this in the groups tomorrow but I was wondering if any of my friends have undergone treatment like this before and how it went for you?

I would say DO NOT go in the study. 1. You need to be treated, not possibly neglected with being on placebo. 2. You do not know what a new drug would do to you re side effects. 3. why is your doctor promoting this to you, are they gettting $$ kickbacks for giving them patients 4. How unethical recommending you go for treatment that might be no treatment at all. I think you should tell your shrink to fuck off and you want treatment that has already been proven.
No I havn\'t tried this. Is it the doctors research project? If so he may have some bias towards thinking you should do the study. Don\'t feel pressured to do it if you don\'t want to.
