finally warm and beautiful out, though it appears to have rained by the beach?  no idea.  when i got home everything was wet, so i guess it did.  very odd day.  if you ever think you are having a bad go of it, then you end up somewhere and discover something way worse that someone else is going through.  so this man is at the pound with his SOBBING daughter who is 9 years old holding her 6 month cat that their new management company manager/landlord is making them get rid of.  he says he wants to move anyway, because there is a meth lab down the hall, but it cost him $1400 to get into this place, which he thought would be good for his children because its full amenities, more than one swimming pool, playground, basketball, tennis etc.  instead, its a nightmare.  he was in a car accident and lost half his leg and his job.  he also lost most of his medical benefits and when they were taking care of his other leg, they did something wrong, so it set wrong and is now infected, so he'll have no legs and raising two kids and a dog.  he is telling this to the pound, he just needs a foster home so he can find a different place to live, because he doesn't have to re-sign his lease until next month. 
 
his daughter is SOBBING through all this, like asthma attack kind of sobbing and as always, they just stare and write it up.  if m was still there he would immediately try to help.  instead some new bitch was there "for the day" and nasty and saying, if you want to help this guy, take it outside.  the girl saying this is YOUNG (around 25) and she is already nasty like that?  wow!  i think at her age, i'd have been CRYING with that 9 year old kid.  seriously.  but i have never worked for a pound either, and i know, even now in my old age, i have an anxiety attack if i go there and there is too many customers with animals they need to surrender or kill because of illness (ever hear of a vet? or how about "home remedies for dogs and cats" its a book, or how about animal catalogs like revivalanimal.com that teaches you what different symptoms mean and how to treat them buying from the catalog (and the catalog is free).  animal care lessons should be mandatory for all pet owners, just like foster care classes which teach parenting skills should be mandatory for allllll parents.  its amazing this stuff isn't taught in elementary school.
 
...  if the crematorium inside the pound is running and those white flakes are in the sky, falling on you i also have an anxiety attack from that.  the first time it happened it was totally confusing, i thought it was snow, except it doesn't "snow" in florida.   if you are outside the flakes fall and its exactly the same as is described in books about the holocaust, when they describe the crematoriums of the concentration camps.  those falling flakes are cremation ash from the living things they just killed and burned.  omg!  that is the paid cremations and the household pets and kittens.  according to m, the feral cats bodies are sold for $2 per body to laboratories and the labs, store freezers at the pound to pick those animals up in bulk.  he also claims it only costs $1 to kill an animal, but will still kill an animal rather than return the animal to its owner, if the owner who shows up doesn't have the full amount of money (generally around $100 - $300 dollars to get their animal back out, depends on how long its been there.  surprised more people haven't gone postal on these places).   they won't even allow them to go on a payment plan or to "adopt back" the animal for an adoption fee.  the pound CHOOSE to kill the animal instead.  isn't the point of pounds and shelters to save lives.  doesn't sound like their goal is "life saving" to me. 
even economically that makes no sense, they would make more money "risking" a payment plan or accepting an adoption fee up front.   this pound will  REFUSE to return the animal to its owner and  kill the animal instead.  wtf?
so, the new rescue needs to have the animal fixed, and they need a friendlier place to live with their animals and i hope it all works out for them.  the animal was not checked into the high kill, death-row pound, that is what all pounds are including our local pound.  the kitten is about five months old, its adoptable, but its better off with its original family who obviously loves it.  heartbreaking. 
so that is two, three if you include bda, all of whom need reasonable houses, to purchase.  this guy's ex is far south of here and i think he'd be better off further south, but its none of my business really.  the other is a friend of L's boyfriend, who has HUGE car payments for the next five years and child support for the next 15 years, so finding something for him will be even trickier.  bda's would be the easiest because her's can be reversed right away (or after one year) but she has no support from her son.  grrrrr.  and all three have foreclosures which remain on credit longer than credit cards.  it shouldn't, but it does. 
foreclosure and repossessions are the worst things you can have and its so unfair because so much of that is circumstance, a rich person may have savings or relatives to help, so there is a safety net.  an ordinary person, (90 percent of the world) doesn't have that.  our government or all loans should have something built in for that.  the last guy was told to build up his credit to apply for a house.  yes.  that is true.  you "ideally" need 3 credit lines (or two) over $1000 dollars.  you DO NOT need a $23,000 car, especially not in an area where you can pick up houses and condos for $30,000 that were selling for $100,000 ten years ago.
