Report Cards & Money

The kids got their 1st quarter report cards. My daughter got all As & 2 Bs. My son did very well for himself--he actually passed English (a D, not even a D-), A in Food Services, Orchestra & Academic Assistance (special help), and potentially a B+ in Algebra (there was some tech issue that made it "incomplete", but we'll resolve that). Unfortunately, he got an F in Sociology, which he's going to need to graduate. Hopefully he can bring that up next quarter. If worse comes to worse, he can take it again next semester. Anyway...if he passes everything he's taking now, he will graduate on time. Yeah!
In other news, I submitted my paperwork to put my paycheck on direct deposit into my personal account. That'll make life sooo much easier; I'll just pay bills right from there. No more money orders, no more running to the bank! Of course, how I was working my money was the way I had to do it if I was ever going to pay off my credit card & have some money for day-to-day expenses. I looked at my paperwork--I've been doing this for 3 years now! But now that I have this personal account, I'll have the best of all worlds.
Speaking of money, I had a strange moment last night. DH & I were talking about the big Powerball drawing. He said he bought a ticket & I asked if he's share his winnings with me. He said, "Of course! I'll throw it into the pot like we always do!" Now, if I was a cartoon, I'd have a balloon over me with "!" in it, because I'm not really "throwing it all into the pot". (Of course, I do throw in some $ for common expenses, but...) I guess I was just taken aback by what he said.
