Repeat after me: I will not crash ......
I have been on such a roll the past couple of months! Do all good things have to come to an end??? Crashed yesterday and today. Dropping things ..... my legs and hips hurt all the way down in the bone .... can't sleep .... took a prescription sleeping pill last night, and I think it made me feel worse. Friday and Saturday weren't much better.
On top of all that, I have a miserable crick in my neck --- Lizzie slept on my head last night. Yeah, I woke up this morning .... thought she had her paw on my face .... reached to move her paw. but no .... It wasn't her paw .... It was her nose!!! I know she loves Tim and me, but come on!!! Aren't good dogs supposed to sleep at your feet, and not on your head
But, I'm optimistic! I've taken it easy for the past few days. I have way too much to do --- no time for a crash! Must rest up. Good news is: All of my latest brain scans and blood tests came back good! The EEG was great, and I have the same amount of brain damage that I had on my last MRI! And, this neurologist says I don't need to be on the daily bucket full of pills that the last one had me on! Works for me, since I quit taking all of those pills because they made me feel worse.
Tim and I have already made one batch of blackberry jelly and peaches are getting ripe. Tomorrow we plan to make more jelly and some peach jam. The hardest work for that is done -- we juiced the berries yesterday, and I peeled, pitted, and chopped the peaches today. My daughter is coming out to pick blackberries for her householD tomorrow. My mom is coming to pick plums --- she is diabetic and wants to make a low sugar jelly. I gave her some low sugar strawberry jam that I made, and she went crazy!!! Anyhoooo, I told my mom that I would juice the plums for her. We have this steamer contraption that makes juicing fruit soooo much easier and less messy than the old-fashioned way. Tim's grape vines aren't looking very well, though. We may not have grapes this year. Don't tell Tim that I said this, but I'm kinda relieved. I need a break! Fruits are ripening one after the other, and garden stuff will be ripening before we know it.
My daughter wants me to go with Her, my brother, and his family to Kentucky Kingdom amusement park in July or August. Tim and I are planning to paint the interior of the house before cold weather gets here, too.
(My daughter .... She came out to visit last week. My dad planted 60 tomato plants, so my daughter went over to his garden to pick some green tomatoes to fry. At one point she almost had a heart attack. She reached to get a tomato plant, and it meowed at her!!! She froze in her tracks and looked around. Ther was a stray cat beside the tomato plant! The cat was about the same color as the dirt, so she didn't notice it. And, my dad hates cats, so that was the last thing Rachel expected to see at his house!)
We are doing the usual cookout at my daughter's. We will all bring potluck, grill dogs and burgers, and watch the fireworks display at the Western Kentucky State Fair. That means I'll have to reserve the energy to grocery shop and cook in addition to canning, etc! I plan to take my camera and tripod and see if I can get some shots of the fireworks --- hope they're better than last year's!
I have had such a great spring, and we are planning to do so much more than I would have even dreamed of doing a year and a half ago! I refuse to allow this crash to last long. I still have a life. I refuse to give up. I will rest, refuel, and fight another day! Tomorrow, I will feel better!
Hugs and strength to all of my co-warriors! WE ARE WARRIORS! I don't know how long we'll have to fight, or how many more times we will have to retreat and regroup, but we will be the victors! De opresso liber!

Absolutely, \"De opresso liber!\" Love it! I am so sorry you are crashing. I was so excited about how well things were going, but I guess you will just have to slow down and get some rest. I do pray it won\'t be a long one. Much love.
You do a lot of work out there in MONKY!! Seriously! I\'m tired just reading about all the canning and juicing. I suppose, that in the longrun, it\'s a life style that you are used to, but it\'s a busy one for a CFS\'er!! Good for you for trying to pace and not let this illness land you on your butt too much more than you have to. Apparently, we can keep working through a crash when it\'s absolutely necessary. I guess the adrenalin kicks in and we can keep going. It does catch up with us though. We\'re used to it. I\'m resting for about a month now, and still very short on energy. A little depression thrown in here too. Tis to be expected, I guess.
Glad you\'ll be coming off that bucketload of pills. Truly, medication makes us feel worse. Same thing with the sleep aid. I take them when I have to, but they seem to make me feel anxious the next day. The fewer chemicals we put in our bodies, the better.
I\'m so glad about your fireworks day plans. Sounds great with the cooking and the fair and all. I hope you get some great shots. Happy to hear that things with Tim are still going well.
Hang in there kiddo. I have no idea what De opresso liber means......but i\'m sure it\'s deeper than something like \"another one bites the dust\" or something. I\'ll have to do some google work! LOL!!
Here\'s a big hug from MONJA! xo
Rest, re-fuel and fight another day! I love it, it is great to hear your spirit and thanks for sharing it, it has boosted me to do just the same!
Fantastic to hear you don\'t have to take a load of nasty meds and that you are all clear.
The jelly (jam as we say here!) making sounds lovely - tiring but wholesome! make sure you keep resting and regrouping, just reading all you have planned made me tired! Best of luck for the amusement park, make sure you plan ahead to make the day as easy for you as possible, even if its just taking drinks and snack and a hat :) big hugs xx
Sorry so late to your journal Nancy! Hope your crash is easing and your crick is gone. My dogs like sleeping up by my head too. I make them take turns though. Even on a king bed, 4 dogs is a lot!
Awesome news on your scans and tests! Yay! And taking less pills is always good news.
So what happened to the furry surprise in your dad\'s tomato plants??
The fair sounds fun! Get good pics? It\'s like world war III here in my neighborhood on the 4th. Between that and entering tornado season, the dogs are on edge these days!
Big hugs to you fellow warrior...
Nancy, I hope you are feeling better by now and that you were a victorious warrior against the crash. My mouth is watering thinking of all the delicious things you are making with your homegrown fruit. You would probably be depressed seeing all of the pale, puny fruit we have in the grocery stores here. I\'m glad to hear your test results looked good and you can avoid all of the meds that were causing problems. My dogs are nice and let us share \"their\" bed - of course, they get to pick the best spot for themselves first.
I just realized I missed this one sorry.Life in the country sounds rich, full and very rewarding. You lead a very active life and if it causes a crash now and then , I\'m sure it\'s worth it.Great news that your tests results are good and I also agree that chemical meds make us worse..I sleep by myself every night and often I get lonely.I could get a fluffy puppy to snuggle.A toy one I mean lol!! .Or a toy boy.Oops where on earth did that come from ? From my silly tired old sleep deprived brain.Had a bad night and struggling today.Frank got all spruced up and went out and left me all by my lonesome.Going into ramble land now so I\'m off . Going going gone.Hugs to you pickle gal.xo
