Cry,,,and cry,,,I do......I had a terrible night not long after Morgan passed...I was playing and a group of young girls came to the resturant , that was hard,, but later they sang \"happy birthday to Morgan\" i cried, and cried,,I was lucky to be surronded by friends who understood....I hate reminders... love ya!
There are many reminders...many triggers.... Some make us cry until there are no more tears, and yet, we cry more. Some make us smile with the fond memory, while having that little prick of pain flash through our souls. And sometimes, after a while, we can smile without thought or reflection of pain....just the LOVE that always was and still remains.
These past 6 years I\'ve learned the best thing I can do for myself is to be honest in all of it.....cry when I need to; scream and curse when I need to; laugh and smile when I want to; and do it all without guilt for reservation.
Thank you for sharing~~tight understanding hugs~~Teri
I can relate to & understand what you are saying& it\'s ok for the tears to come.
I have seen people who remind me of my sons & each time it takes my breath away & brings some tears.
Once I was in an airport & saw a young man across the way from me sleeping in a chair. His hair was like my son Chad\'s & he was dressed the way Chad did. He had guitar with him & Chad loved his guitar. I just watched him for quite awhile, I even began to pretend it was Chad. I somehow felt I got an extra moments with my son.
Another time I was at the grocery store & saw a young man walking toward me that looked so much like my Jeremy. I hoped the people near me couldnt hear my quiet gasp. It seemed so real because Jeremy & I had shopped in this very store several times. I had actually seen him walking these very aisles. As this young man passed me I watched him walk by & down the aisle. When I could no longer see him I longed for him to walk near me again. As I starting trying it clear my head, here he come again. Our eyes met & I was amazed at the similarity. I felt he allowed me to have my moment.
Do I feel like those encounters we\'re actually with my sons. No......however I do feel like they allowed me to remember my sons in an intense visual way. I can\'t wait for the next time.
Yes, I understand what you are describing and just allowing all the feelings to come in is part of the healing I have discovered.
Because you have loved and do love so strongly the depth of longing is always there and I suspect the reminders will be will be too.
Missing our loving sons, Trevor and Douglas each and every day. They are free from their earthly pain and now are free to continue on their paths of healing too.
Heart to Heart and Hand in Hand we go... Knowing that so much of what each of us feels someone else here is too. I find comfort in that and hope you do as well.
Loving care and healing hugs,
XO Joanie
Even after nearly 6 years...there are still triggers. Your loss is so recent...it is so hard. I remember going to the bathroom and crying...drying my eyes and going and teaching a class...only to return to the bathroom. In time those gut wrenching pains are not as frequent. Just take one moment at a time...love and hugs...Karen
Karen and Nora and Teri have all said it... There are no right or wrong ways hugs, marylou
I know how hard it is to go through the 1st two or three years of constant reminders of your son..Its like we have to go through it over & over & over again until we don\'t think we can go on living this way, feelings of going crazy, the panic attacks, anxiety, the pain is So intense, we have to ask God to please help us..We will go over and over every questions then the same answers again again and again, over over and over until something clicks in your brain...I don\'t know how but something happens out of no where. We start to realize we are feeling a little better with more understanding, things we never thought we would understand...I didn\'t believe it would happen to me, I thought I was never going to survive it, some how I\'m looking at 7 years in April since my 18 yrold son Ryan went to heaven...In time the pain lessens, but it is always there in our heart and soul...It does change our lives forever!!! Until then we have to struggle our way to a happy destiny!! In Hope and Faith we will ssee them at the gates of heaven, I am looking forward to that day, God Bless!! ...Love & Hugs, Kelly
It was the morning Trevor was cremated, although we didn\'t know it was about the same time, my daughter Marcy and I took our dogs for a walk, in the park, there on a tree was an OWL, it looked right at us and then took off, now we have never seen an owl in this park, I have lived here 35 years. Come to find out, the Native Americans consider the Owl to be the guardian to the afterlife, I honestly believe that owl was a sign from Trevor, he was released at that time, and then come to find, it was right about the same time we saw the owl that Trevor was cremated, he is home here with us in his physical, but his spiritual has left and gone where it belongs...
Amazing! SO wonderful for Trevor to allow you to know he IS! Thank you Trevor for gifting your mom through the sighting of an owl....how awesome!
This is a good sign! Josh sent me bees in my house, gobs of them. They had a red stripe (his favorite color) and were gentle as we caught them and put them back outside. About 2 weeks after Josh was gone so were the bees and they have never returned.
Absolutly! it was a sign from Trever!! Trever knew you needed a comforting peaceful, feeling of abundance of Love, to let you know HE is OK... It gives us Strength until the next visit or sign, Trever will gift you with another sign, when you need it the most... What a powerful feeling you must of felt when you saw that OWL!!! Love hearing these signs, it gives us hope, doesn\'t it!!!!!!! XO Kelly
