Remember Put ups not put downs

I have been doing really well lately. I have been learning about myself, my needs, how important my prayer life with God is and how to stay away from falling into a depressive state.  One thing that is huge for me is to do 'put ups' and not 'puts downs'.  When ever a negative thought (put down) comes into my mind, I say NO to that thought and immediately replace it with a 'put up' (which I have a list ready when I can't think of one on my own).  I am amazed how good I feel when I say good things about myself to myself.  I also focus on what is going well in my life, no matter how small, and celebrate on those good things.  I avoid as much as I can focusing on what is not going well.  I have learned to say I can instead I can't.  I also have taken 'I have to' out of my vocabularly and replaced it with 'I get to'. All these techniques have really helped me feel good, peaceful, and content.  I hope those reading this will try it.  It does help. Hugs
