relationship breakdown

I am in my 70's and after 11 happy years sharing the later years of my life with a wonderful partner we were on top of the world and very happy together. We often said - we don't ask more of life than this, just to live together in peace and harmony until one of us died.

Then about 7 weeks ago it all came crashing down due to a combination of unfortunate events, including the fact that she was getting onset dementia and started saying I had done things that I hadn't done. In the whole time we knew each other I never used any violence toward her - either physical or mental, I'm just not that kind of guy. For some reason her family doesn't want us to be reconciled and that is very hurtful to me because all I ever tried to do was to make her life happy. I don't know what she told them but none of her four children ever bothered to talk with me. In fact after a week or so they came to my house to remove her belongings and they didn't even tell me they were coming. The last time we communicated by email she told me her family didn't want her to ever see me again or to have any further communication with me.

I'm afraid I haven't been able to adjust to this dramatic change in my life. Life just seems so empty and worthless and I cannot get motivated to do the things I used to enjoy. I try to get out as often as I can as I hate coming home to an empty house. My sleep has been affected and I cannot get interested in food, I have to force myself to try and eat. I have been on various medications including sleeping medication I have now started anti depressant medication. but it is leaving me with a very dry mouth.

Does anyone have any suggestions or comments? I find it helpful just to be able to talk with people. Unfortunately there are no support groups anywhere near where I live so that is why I have gone online
